Don't the Seekins use trigger tech? I am not aware of issues with trigger tech triggers..... granted I also haven't really looked into it.
Yeah I am wondering as well what issues he was referring to. I have pretty much used the R700 platform my entire hunting career and they do have some...
This conversation always intrigues me. Sharp sticks kill elk deader than a door nail if you punch it through the right organs. Shooting a rifle that makes you more likely to hit what you're aiming at trumps cartridge/caliber in my opinion. If you can shoot both equally well, shoot the bigger...
I'm average at best at hunting and shooting. I've made my share of shots that left a lot to be desired. That said, it blows my mind how bad influencers in general tend to be at shooting. Crap happens, but the percentage of piss poor shots from influencers really is sad. The ol texas heart shot...
The PH2 could still need some inletting, but likely not drastic. Personally I don't like the steel barrel adapter and aluminum action on the element. It probably works fine, but it's just an extra failure point in my mind. I have a couple Christensen's. Both just standard Mesas. One in 6.5 CM...
I DMed him earlier and his response was that the seekins work fine but are plagued with the same issues all other R700 platform rifles are. He recommended a Tikka.
Yeah as much as the idea of open sight rifles makes me cringe.........It sounds a hell of alot better than montana general season deer hunting does. Having some mature bucks on the land scape to me matters. Even if they aren't real common.
I am in the same boat. No big stinky buck is worth missing halloween with my kids. I swear I might just drive my ass home for Halloween and go back early the next day if Im not tagged out for second season next year.
Eurooptic has both on sale right now. I was thinking of setting up a 6.5 PRC just because I want to. Which rifle would you pick and why between these two?
High success and easy to draw don't usually correlate in non resident general season type hunts. My advice is pick an area that you like, and try and hunt it as often as you can. And pick somewhere as close to home as possible. You can look up the statistics on the fish and game websites the...
Gonna be honest, I stopped watching all of them about 3 years ago when it dawned on me they were literally selling our sport off to the highest bidder for clicks and likes.
MuleyFreak is one of the worst of them in my opinion.
And be careful, they get pissed for disparaging their name...
I don't really have much to say about Leupold.
But, man people get touchy about their equipment. If someone tells me what I'm using doesn't work when I know it clearly works for me. I tip my hat and say "thanks dude" and go back to what I was doing.
All that said. I definitely had issues...
Don't worry. Most guys over estimate them. I had to start mentally -10 inches off every time I come up with a number to get it right. And an autmatic -2 inches off width.....
I have hunted a bunch of them. I usually have fun and have chances to punch a tag if I want to. Finding a buck older than 3 years old and killing it can be a challenge. After this last winter it's going to likely be pretty hard to find a mature buck on most units north of Fillmore
My kick off system managed to bind up last year from silt and mud getting in it. If it still springs back into place don't worry about it. If you ever do need to dissasemble it berreta has an older you tube video of how to do it..
I mean, the fact people call it a build baffles me. It's gluing shit on to a shaft. It's no more technical than assembling a model rocket. I personally will never shoot fancy arrows ever again. Easton axis 300 spin. Standard inserts AAE Maxstealth 3 fletch. Grim reaper mechanicals or fixed...
Ive done an entire deer plus rifle and gear, in one. Not sure how heavy the pack was, it was enough to cause a lower back injury though. Never again. Two trips for me. Maybe even 3 if it's a huge deer and I am caping him.......
I owned one for about 10 months shot a couple thousand arrows out of it. It is a nice bow, tunes decent, very dead shot and quiet. Draw cycle is meh, speed was good. I sold the bow because me and the grip couldn't' get along and that was after several after market attempts. I think it's dumb...
It's a shit show. I was number 14,700ish last year. Don't count on even getting any tag. But the two point only tag does probably hold some promise.
Since other states are clamping down on non res tags the pressure to get an idaho tag seems to have sky rocketed since you last hunted it. I...
