Late season tips?

treestands and apples work great. I've shot my last three bucks from mine. I've also killed them out hiking and have rattled a few in. Grunts will work to it just depends on the rut. The best bet is a treestand though. My stand is on a main trail that goes from a feeding to bedding area. They...

New to the West Coast

I haven't called any in with calls but rattling works great. I prefer old sheds and the larger the better. If you find an area a buck is working with scrapes and rubs you should be able to get him to come in.

Montana Decoy Legs

I just bought a small hand clamp from the hardware store and ditched the legs. Now I just clamp it to a tree limb or whatever brush is around. It works great and is way easier to pack around.

Oregon Elk Help

While there are no fires in the Alsea unit access can be limited due to fire danger and timber companies closing their land. I'm west of Corvallis and right in the heart of it. There are still plenty of option on the coast for elk though. Not sure what area you're looking to hunt. I doubt...

Water Bladder hose taste

I clean mine with mint denture cleaner. The water tasty minty for a bit but it beats plastic.
