80eldx. Too much again. I’ll be going back to a slower 6.5 next year. These 22 cal bullets at 3k are too destructive at the closer ranges I normally am shooting.
A small neck may not give the depth needed for upset. Depends on bullet, but they all don’t upset immediately. Most of the reason I don’t take neck shots. Small target especially on a doe.
Cause I know better than to waste my time hunting public in wi during gun deer. You western boys don’t know pressure like seeing 6 trucks hunting 1 40
OP I’d do wi and come with a cross bow first week of November. Pretend it’s a gun.
Stay away from the northern third and enjoy doe tags for...
It’s a neck friction issue, likely not a tension issue.
Rub some imperial wax over the rim, followed by a turning mandrel and a dry tumble. Freshly annealed brass has a lot of friction. Beyond going with very light actual interference fit, you’re not going to fix this problem without a wet...
My prefit at the beginning of this thread is a .100 freebore chamber. You can see where the 88 sits in the first couple pages. I think .120 would be more ideal but wouldn’t be a deal breaker. I’d buy another .100 freebore 22 creed without worry.
I havnt used them but I know people do.
The 108 elite hunter has a similar hybrid profile. Worth a try.
I’m personally not a huge fan of what bergers do on deer but I won’t shoot anything else at targets.
Ehh, Berger could probably ditch the whole vld line and still not be able to keep up.
105 hybrid is thee 6mm bullet. I’m not sure for hunting, but for shooting there is something special about that one.
Also crack the ear tubes out with a screw driver, there’s gunk in the .
Oxy clean didn’t get it as white as I’d like. I ended up doing a few coats along with rinses of this. After 5 days my skull ended up pretty white. Rinsed it off and clear coated the skull...
I did a dawn wash, and filled them with borax for a few weeks prior to mounting them.
Beeswax/mineral oil paste I put on wood knife handles worked good on the outside to restore the natural color.
If money and time were no object this is the barrel I would go with.
Sounds like the perfect 22 creed hunting barrel
That freebore is very versatile in the event 88s don’t shoot
They torque their barrels to 100ft lbs. I don’t see them making anything that is held by hand tight and a set screw.
Once your original barrel is off it takes minimal tools to swap barrels.
Deer shot with guns don’t always bleed like you would think they would. Same can be said for bow shot deer at times. We are spoiled by a large blood trail at times, and forget there is a lot more to tracking deer. Luckily you watched where he went and used your head.
I wouldn’t have...
Pretty fine line between, ohh my barrel is just fast, while numbers suggest pushing 70+k psi and having your rifle go click on a hunt because the primer you pierced ended up in your bolt or trigger.
Same reason primers are 10 cents each now.
Free market… but shooters are just kicking other shooters in the balls with the grab and sell.
I would have bought one to use. I wasn’t fast enough.
