Thanks for Posting OP, seems a few good things came from this. I just ordered the UM DBM for a new build as well. I also store / set my rifles aside with the hammer down. For me it was a confirmation that no one else has fiddled with it and that it’s still empty since the hammer is down. I can...
How did this turn out for you? I’m in your neighboring province and was looking a similar direction for the next rifle build. I couldn’t find a reasonable way to get a rifle up here from unknown, so I bought the rokstock and they’re shipping it up for a flat $50.
Thinking 22” ibi barrel, Ti3...
I own the colorados and briksdall SF. Colorado gets me through to late September then I transfer up to SF.
I wouldn’t soften the sf at all, and if I were going winter goat hunting in BC I think I’d look into something plastic anyways. Thankfully I haven’t been that crazy as of yet.
Not sure...
Ray Wiens in BC.
I wanted something cool for my first ram. barrel opens up to a shelf with the rough area, date, and a routered slot for the brass. Whisky goes in the bottom, glasses up top. Added handles after the photo.

8 up top and 10 on bottom, maybe 9.
Tdot good on you for letting him walk buddy, that’s the right choice if you’re not sure. I aged mine at 8 last year and had to deal with the stress of if I counted right, if we would get a good bio blah blah.
Made it through with 8, and now I’d be looking...
It sounds okay on paper, but in practice I’m not sure. Our last hunt we planned for 12 days. I had a partner with me and we never slept in the same spot. We covered a few mountain ranges, and stayed mobile the whole time. Hindsight we could’ve spent more time on each area glassing than 1 day...
I had the stormfront leak on me while packing out an elk in BC. I replaced it with Arcteryx and just filed a warranty claim. They've stood behind it and gave me a credit for a new set.
Now I already have an alpha / beta set of arcteryx for when shes ugly, I'm curious on this new light set for...
When the borders open you'll be back! Just wish you could still shoot Grizzlies, way too many on the mountains as it is. A big portion of the northern CO's (conservation officer) job is relocating, then putting them down when that doesn't work. Valerius Geist stated a study was done where...
Shoot me a PM around the 8/9 of august and I’ll give you an update on the north. I should be returning by then from a river hunt.
Get that out of your head, no ones telling you anything. Shit happens and we have to deal with it before moving on. Heal up, move slowly up the mountain, enjoy the...
I used my 10 x 42's in conjunction with an ATX 65 the last 2 years. It's not easy spotting bedded grey sheep on a grey landscape.. I used the 65 spotter to grid after scanning with the nockers, spotter would turn up more.
Each to their own, but I'd love to try those EL 12's on my tripod /...
I'd throw the Niak into the mix. I enjoyed some time in that tent last year in northern BC looking for stones. That would be my choice for solo, unless it's going to be really ugly and I'd like some extra room. With a partner I like the Nallo 3 GT. Curious to those gents in AK running the duomid...
I'm in BC and they're about to open up the parks for day use on the 15th and camping in june. I'd say July is looking pretty early due to all this crap. The outfitter may be working, it's just a concern on whether or not you can make it across the border to us up here.
I'll cross my fingers...
Anyone know if these actions fall in the same footprint? Trying to figure out if you can get an 85 into an XLR magnesium Chassis. The guys there outfit for the t3 but weren’t certain on the sako.

Right on, I was leary on it but glad it can be done. It may not set up like a hilleberg but if it sheds a couple pounds over my nallo 2... Could be worth checking out. Thanks for the reply.
Right on! Still wondering how you set it up on the slopes when its 1*C and sh!tt!ng rain all over. Does that inner fly keep the interior dry or do you crawl into a damp shelter once it's set up?
Any update on this OP? Curious as to where this roads lead you, I'm looking at similar options to you with an MPR. Currently have a Tikka Tac A-1 sitting around unfired. Ended up being too heavy and not appealing to me all that much.
Happy to hear more of your thoughts on the subject!
