That's the direction I'm headed (just don't need the long/wide). The "failproofness" of synthetic is worth the extra weight bulk over down... in my opinion.
Good Luck!
I have used the MoPower from Amazon (I think it's $17 right now) for the past couple seasons. Probably not as durable as the dark energy ones, but serves its purpose for me..

I'm a huge fan of the Big Agnes Q-Core SLX. Insulated, thick and comfy...hard to beat!
Got it in the long/wide version. I sleep better on it that on my mattress at home.
Good Luck!
I'm about to give my Obsidians a run through the paces, so I can't comment on that side. But out of curiosity, what don't you like about the guide pants? For October/November they are my go to, but I'm not packing in for those hunts... The original kanab can probably fill some of your pant...
Here's a video of my 5200 in daypack mode. Kuiu Icon Pro 5200 Day Pack Mode
Take the 5200. You can put meat in the load shelf and in the bag if you need the space.
Good Luck!
Spend money on a pack and sleep system first. Then look at clothing and other gear.
There are a ton of videos at the link below that should help you get started!
Good luck!
I hunt 28/37 during 3rd season - have for the past decade. Weather can be warm to down right freezing. So here's what I use/bring:
Kuiu 210 Base layer, Kuiu Guide pants (or FirstLite Kanab 2.0), Kuiu Yukon Gaiters
Kuiu 210 1/4 Zip, Kuiu Kenai jacket, Kuiu Guide Jacket (or First Light...
I'd look very hard at the kennetrek in either a L or XL. They were always too big for my chicken legs, but maybe they'll work. I used mine for a decade without a problem - just had to cinch them down as far as I could. The Mediums fit me better. I really like the Yukon gaiters from Kuiu, but...
Depends on what pants. The Tiburons are tighter/higher rise than the attacks, and the guides are more roomy than the attacks...
I actually find the sizing to be right on...
Good Luck!
Not a SG, but I did put it on a Kuiu... Here's the video of how I did it: Kifaru Water Bottle Pocket on Kuiu Icon Pro
I'd bet the use of the malice clips could make it possible, but I just don't have 1st hand knowledge of how to do it on a SG.
Good Luck!
Above are correct...
The icon pro series bags (1850, 3200, 5200, 7200) are designed to allow for load hauling between the frame and the bag without any additional accessories. The Load hauler is for when you are just taking the frame (no bag) back for the 2nd load. One or the other.
Good Luck
