2 years ago my brother and his friend put in for the first time and both drew tags, last year I put in for the first time and I drew a tag, my buddy put in this year for the first time and drew a good elk tag. Must be first year luck for our group. All red for my brother and I this year.
Tried this for the first time today. Definitely need to work on off hand. 2 misses on the first round using 6x, but hit the rest using 3x. Some of that was luck as I had a hard time keeping it in a 12 inch wobble zone. For some reason I'm shooting high when seated and shooting off the pack. It...
Id like to see it too. I put some 223 in my 308 mag and it looked like the feed lips are a little further apart and were only holding the very back of the case.
I saw Ruger came out with a new version of their American rifles. They have a 20 inch and 16 inch 223 that are threaded with 1:8 twist. Looks like they're going to have 22 arc too

I read through this entire thread earlier this summer and it really got me thinking of picking up a new 223. I ended up ordering a t3x and getting it chopped to 17.5" and threaded. I also added the vertical grip and a cheek riser. I worked up decent load with the 77gr TMK over XBR. I practiced...
I used brass threaded inserts. I drilled a hole a little under sized and then melted them in with a soldering iron. I installed them from the inside so the flange keeps it from pulling through. Can't find the exact ones I used, but it was something like these.

I normally just go with rcbs basic dies for everything. Wasn't sure if I'd need an eld type seating stem for the tmk or not. I saw Hornady offers one for their dies. I've tried lee recently for 350 legend and 450 bushmaster and they seemed fine too. I don't think I'll need anything fancy since...
Tikka is ordered and going straight to the gunsmith to cut and thread it. 500 TMKs on the way from Creedmoor. Just need to figure out what I want to get for 223 dies.
I'm about to the same point with my older knight. I tried several bullets and powders last summer and couldn't get anything to shoot decent. I have some more bullets to try now. If those don't working I'm planning on an optima as well.
I had the same thing happen on my Tikka. Shot factory 308 hornady superformance sst around .5 moa, so I bought several boxes. Got my suppressor approved and that opened up to around 1.5 moa. Tried it with two different suppressors and got similar results. I'm not reloading for 308 currently and...
I tested 4 different factory loads, with 2 different suppressors, through my tikka 308 last weekend and that federal/berger load was the best. Hornady precision hunter with the eldx was a close second.
50 degree summer bag that I sometimes use a liner in cold weather
Cheaper 30 degree bag. I don't use this any more, but use it for a camping loaner
20 degree synthetic bag
0 degree down bag
0 degree kodiak canvas bag. Just bought this after freezing in Montana last year. Way too big for anything...
I've had one since 2016. I've used it at least a week every year. I can cram two long/wide pads in there and have a little room for stuff at the end, but mainly use it by myself and have plenty of room. I've had it in rain and snow without any leaks. I've re-waterproofed it once. I like the...
My last 3 strings came from Lane Holcomb on facebook. Good prices and he'll make them pretty much however you want them. I think the first 2 I ordered took a week, the last one was just a few days.
XT250 or the Honda 250L or the new 300L. Or spend a little more for the beta xtrainer.
My wife is 5'7" also and started on a crf150 to learn how to ride and run the clutch. Then we got her a xt200. That was a good bike, but definitely needed rejetted when we took it out to Colorado. We sold...
Are you getting the bolt or the bravo? The rico g is 3800 with a lrf and is 3x. I looked through the 640 bolt last night and it's pretty sweet. The display seems much nicer than the display in my 640 rattler, but I like the way the image or shading looks in my AGM better. Kind of hard to...
