Old thread but I'll throw my .02 into the mix. A buddy and I recently had some similar issues (inaccurate direction/distance along with delays in pointing of up to a minute or more, and then little glitchy things like saying a pointing dog has "treed quarry" instead). The later I really don't...
Thanks for the input so far! I’ve got two kids who love hunting and we do all sorts of trips together. I’m really torn between the crewmax and the 6.5’ bed…
I don’t think I’d bother with anything but the 5.7.
Thanks again!
So I’m just getting back into the truck market and I’m pretty sure I’m sticking with Toyota. I’d like a Crew Max setup and leather would be nice but not a total deal breaker.
I’m wondering:
What years do you recommend or stay away from?
How many miles is truly too many with these? I know a...
I hear ya, I have two young ones in sports myself. It helps to have a group of knowledgeable guys training together to stay on track. It’s always fun to get kids involved in the training too.

This pup more or less fell into our lap and had most everything we wanted in the breeding. I find if I have to think too much about something, I talk myself out of it! I’m looking forward to my female showing the pup how it’s done and watching them work together.
I know what love is….and that’s bird dogs.
Our new addition to our 5 yo draht.

I figured the best way to celebrate my boys first wild rooster was a new bird dog to grow up with! 🥴 Maybe I’m crazy…
I hear ya, I’m in the same boat with the Marlins and a traditionalist at heart. I have a 44 Trapper from back in the 70s-80s but I was just thinking that something to throw a suppressor on would be fun.
Maybe I need to stick to my gut and wait on a stainless Marlin with the threaded barrel.
I’m looking at adding another lever gun to the stable but am struggling to figure out which route to go.
Im currently looking at either the Henry Big Boy X or the Marlin 1894 SBL or Trapper models.
I’m debating between the .357 and the 45-70 calibers as I reload so the ammunition cost doesn’t...
