The extra techniques only add to the stability with the forehead rest. Handholding 15’s with the SLC was extremely unreasonable to me. I tried back in 2018 on a New Mexico elk hunt. With the ergonomics, hold techniques, and a forehead rest I’m able to handhold these. My buddy doesn’t use the...

Bold statement but the NL 14x52 is what the EL 12x50 did. The 12x50 was on the edge with what you could hand hold comfortably in the EL series. The 14x52 feels just like that in the NL series. EL vs NL Mag - 12x vs 14.4x FOV - 300ft vs 279ft Weight - 35oz vs 36oz Height - 6.8" vs 6.9"

Yes, I use the headrest. Even on the 10x42 it's a night and day difference for me. I broke it last year (my mistake) and went without one for two weeks during spring bear. The replacement I ordered couldn't come soon enough. The other thought was how you hold your binoculars. I picked this up...

Honestly blown away with how well I can hand hold them. I don’t feel like I’m at a disadvantage if the main goal is to use on a tripod but they stay on my chest as my only binocular.

    bullet selection for mountain goat

You can anchor a goat but physics takes over pretty quickly. We shoot on the assumption of both an anchored goat or one that’s going for a ride. We never intentionally try to ‘anchor’ a billy. Both need to be retrievable for us to shoot and we need to be confident that it’s a slam dunk shot so...

    bullet selection for mountain goat

The goat in my picture was shot with a 145 LRX that made a broadhead sized hole in the lungs) and spined due to a 42deg shot angle, I was pretty damn lucky. I haven't used copper for a while now. I was originally on the 'save the meat' train which was BS, I'd rather see 'em drop right away...

    Swarovski to release 14x NL’s

I’m not sure how useful this is to everyone? Happy to do different distances along with twilight glassing as well, just let me know. Some rough testing with the USAF in good lighting. I really wish I had the 15’s to compare them to. I’ll stretch a bit more distance when I have some more time...

The magnetic enclosed medium Marsupial harness is very snug for the 14x52 NL with no forehead rest. They don't properly fit with the headrest. I used a #3 Aziak Clamp and ended up using the longest screw. I prefer a mount at the front just like my 10x42 NL's which is a #1. I'll probably end up...

Best bino magnification for goats & sheep, spotters to pair with.

Where are you doing this? What kind of sheep? What time of year? Since you’re photographing I’m guessing you aren’t trying to age the sheep either. The kowa 554 and 55a are two very different scopes due to the eye piece.

Hit feint pressure by 65 with H1000 and 180 ELDM … 64.0 shoots great even in the wet at ~2825. Went up to 66.0 just to find out, pushed ~2900. The load I settled on is a 162 ELDM with 56.6 of H4350 around ~2800 22” barrel both The H4350 load is just lighter and prefer it for shooting.

    Spotter Scope comparisons / Recommendations

The fine focus on the Kowa is the best I've used, you are always in focus immediately. With both the ATX and ATS I played with the focus wheel a few times before stopping. Glass wise if you're sticking with a 65 the ATS/66a/ATX are all amazing. If I only needed 25-50 I might be using an ATS...
