    22 Creedmore legal use issues!

You complain about people taking personal shots, yet, you seem to be doing most of that. See below where you call people lemmings, accuse @mxgsfmdpx of shooting "zoo animals", calling people ignorant/incompetent, accuse them of having a disability, etc. Again, it is the intellectual dishonesty...

    22 Creedmore legal use issues!

Ok, fine, you are right. You never used the term "unethical". You just stated that they "shouldn't do something that is inconsistent with right and wrong" and then went on to accuse some people here of not having moral agency. What do you think that ethical means? I am honestly curious to...

    22 Creedmore legal use issues!

And yet you continue to assert that it shouldn't be done and to do so is 1) unethical, and 2) should be regulated by the various states so that it is illegal. All that is being asked is what proof do you have to justify your position? By your own admission; none. Therefore how can it be taken...

    22 Creedmore legal use issues!

I will use a variation of a well known quote to explain why some of us feel the need to step in and respond to some of these posts. "All it takes for stupid people to spread stupidity is for knowledgeable people to do nothing." When people jump into these threads and tout their tribal...

    Nitride or cerakote Chromoly Tikka

I like cerakote for the different color options.

6mm Creedmoor > 6.5 Grendel??? And... can Ruger American stabilize the Barnes 95 LRX?

For the 6CM, you should be getting around 2900 fps out of it with a 20" barrel. Slightly less to equal with the .243 (depending on your barrel, etc.). So, based on a quick check with the Hornady Ballistic Calculator, you should be in the 2250-2300 fps range at 300. Around 2100 at 400.

    Tract scopes

I have a Toric UHD 2.5-15X44. It has performed very well for me from a tracking/durability standpoint. I happen to like the reticle. I am not a fan of the christmas tree-type reticles, so a good simple one is what I look for. I agree with the comment that the top vertical portion is not...

I don't think you will be disappointed. I like mine a lot.

6mm Creedmoor > 6.5 Grendel??? And... can Ruger American stabilize the Barnes 95 LRX?

Jay already covered your velocity questions so I will address one other thing I read here. Ditch the brake. Most new and/or inexperienced shooters conflate recoil and muzzle blast. What I mean by that is that they will perceive more recoil than there actually is as muzzle blast increases...

    Federal New Cartridge

You really can't get higher velocity without more recoil when using the same bullet weight. Physics is physics. For every action (bullet going faster) there is a reaction (more recoil).

The nickel is just a plating over regular brass, so no.

    22 Creedmore legal use issues!

In regards to the bold/italics above, 99% of the time, they are using bonded or mono bullets as well and then lament that the didn't drop at the shot, or it ran, even with good shot placement, and use that as their justification as to why the animals are "so tough". As to the state...

    The 22 creedmoor thread

That shoat on the far left is begging for "pig on the half-shell treatment"! That is a hammer of a boar as well. They are much leaner than farm-raised, unless you happen to get one that has been feeding in peanut fields for the last month or so and isn't traveling much. Even then, they won't...

Suppressor for 18" 7MM Sherman Short

I am pretty sure that Dead Air doesn't have any barrel restrictions on their 30 cal cans. Also, the last time I went up to Rugged I asked about how short I could go with my Alaskan, and the response was "Just don't be stupid". Of course the Alaskan, while light, also doesn't have a ton of...

We listen and we don’t judge- hunters edition

Longest I have gone is 33 days, but it was on a submarine with 120 other guys that also couldn't shower. A few wipe downs with 28 degree seawater didn't help much.

What caliber (not cartridge) is best for short barreled rifles when shooting heavy bullets?

I have an 18" Encore barrel in 7-08. I shoot it suppressed with a Harvester EVO. With Starline brass, Varget, and a 120 grain Nosler BT, I am getting around 2725 fps. For the 139 grain SST, I am at 2675. Not sure the 9.5 twist will stabilize the 160s at that slow of a speed. There are...

.223, 6mm, and 6.5 failures on big game

By the definition of quite a few people on this Forum, too much destruction of meat is a bullet failure. As I clearly stated in my post, some would consider this a hunter failure rather than a bullet failure.

6mm Creedmoor > 6.5 Grendel??? And... can Ruger American stabilize the Barnes 95 LRX?

Here is the thing about the Barnes "opening up". That minimum speed that is recommended is only intended to get you 1.2X diameter expansion, i.e. barely opening up. In order to get full 2X expansion you will need somewhere around 2200-2300 fps. As Jay pointed out he is getting about 2X...
