The only thing I change from my big game set up to turkey is the broad head. I’ll be using a large cut mechanical of some kind just haven’t decided on which one yet. Most likely a reaper.
Bowtech Carbon One 70lb in FDE for sale or trade. Very nice bow, crazy smooth draw cycle in comfort. Can come with lucky stops. I’m just not into carbon bows. $975 tyd or trade for aluminum bows.
It's a 2023 bow obviously, but I just traded my phase 4 33 for a Bowtech carbon one. I'm pretty much just going to use it for hunting and I think its awesome for that. 70lbs on comfort feels much better and lighter to pull than the mathews, on performance its pretty similar to the switch weight...
I don’t hunt a brand new spot in the morning for that reason, gonna do more damage than good I think. I try to hunt it in the afternoon the first time or get in sometime to scout and drop a pin where you want to sit. Still don’t kill anything so maybe it doesn’t matter haha
I had a ventum 33 70'lber for a short time and it was definitely hot also. I never had it on a scale, but I can pull my mathews at 72 no problem and it was a heave to get the hoyt pulled back. And the the hbx cam is way smoother than a mathews switch weight cam so I think it had to have been at...
I would twist the cables, especially since you’re 3/16 over ata. Just remember that twisting cables does change DL slightly and Mathew’s already runs long. On my phase 4 33 I twisted cables up for specs and timing and am getting 28&1/8” draw on a 27.5 mod.
I worked at a tire shop for 3 years in high school before I became a heavy equipment mechanic. I’m in the Midwest so we get snow every year, and a lot of people drive/live on gravel roads. I haven’t worked in automotive since 2019 so I’m sure some things are discontinued and new models released...
What camo, apparel, clothing set up are you using for white tail this year? If you live somewhere cold like I do what do you use as the temperature changes? Where do you hunt and what style? Tree stand, ground blind, etc.
I’m getting back into archery white tail after almost strictly waterfowl...
I’m from Iowa as well. Me and my buddies hunt a good amount of private for doves, duck, geese, and one buddy kills turkeys on private every year. He’s not afraid to ask anyone for permission and is good at it haha. All my buddies have shotgun deer groups that have been around for generations...
Wanted to update this... I tuned the bow for my index release, that involved me changing top hats on my bottom cam. I had already changed them on the top cam when I tuned with my handhelds so from the factory I ended up moving both cams to the left to get it to tune with the rest right at 13/16...
Mu group have had super slow mornings this year. In fact from what I have heard no one in my area has killed more than 5-10 on a morning hunt. But people have been hammering them on afternoon hunts.
