Other than the Rhino Den the only sale I've seen them do in the last year was the black friday weekend sale.
I waited all year to get a new frame and some accessories.
Like new Stone Glacier Approach 1800 bag only
I bought this at the beginning of season but I never actually used it in the field, just loaded it up on the pack but before my first trip out I switched to the Sky 5900.
I cut off most of the black cord zipper pulls and replaced them with orange...

Hey fellas, I just got an STX 65 setup and I'm in the process of dialing in my 6x47 match barrel.
I spent a little time at the range yesterday truing my dope and I was playing with the STX and Phone Skope. Conditions made for some pretty good trace off the bullets so I thought I'd share.
Not...
Before my 6.5 Creedmoor barrel got shot out it would put 5-6 rounds of Hornady American Gunner inside of 3/4" at 100 yards but the ES was damn near 100 fps!
Needless to say I couldn't consistently hit anything beyond 800 yards with it.
But at .70 cents a piece I still use it for positional...
Wow! Great bull! Nice work!
I didn’t catch this thread till after it was over but I had anxiety all through reading it hoping to see you got your bull.
If he wants to reliably shoot out to 1000 yards then wind is the name of the game. Most guys dial elevation and hold for wind. If you're holding for wind you don't want to have to think about being on max power so that your reticle is accurate. It's also much more difficult to see your impact...
Aren’t the Zeiss’ all second focal plane?
Anyways I know Leupold had a reputation going for unreliable dialing but you’ll see that the experience with most running the Mark 5 are getting extremely reliable performance out of them. I’ve got a couple thousand rounds ran under mine without a hiccup.
Leupold Mark 5 3.6-18x44 - 26 ounces
I absolutely love the scope. None of the issues that Leupold seemed to get a bad reputation for with other lines.
I can go on and on about the little details that Leupold built into this scope.
It doesn't have to be that expensive. I run the vyce clamp from RRS but it's not necessary.
Here's what I would do. Get this picatinny rail from Badger Ordinance and mount it just in from of your mag well.
Bipod Accessory Rail (BAR)
Then just mount this lever release clamp from RRS to the...
Like Form said your best bet is to mount either a small section of Arca-Swiss (1.5" dovetail) or a short picatinny (however you spell that) rail just in from of your magazine well.
In match shooting where weight is a benefit rather than a penalty guys mount full length rails across the whole...
The SHV has about 9 less mils of total elevation travel plus I believe it’s 5 mils per rev vs 10 like the swfa.
I’ve never played with the swfa but I setup my buddies CTR which he bought an SHV for and I really didn’t like the SHV compared to my LRHS.
On the LRHS I felt the zero stop was...
Nice! What caliber are you going with?
Also, when did your paperwork get to the ATF? They cashed my check around the 3rd week of January and they say my background check is still with the FBI. Thought I would have had the stamp back by now.
When! Like most of us I can't leave well enough alone.
Here's the thing, I'm currently running a wildcat of my smiths, basically a 6.5x55 with a 30 degree shoulder. I'm not married to it but I do like it. A 6.5 PRC would be cool but I don't want to have to source a new bolt to get the magnum...
Thanks man! I'd love to talk to you about a carbon barrel for my hunting rifle. Planning on sticking with my Tikka action and I'd like to go to a 20-22" carbon barrel to offset some of the length of my Ultra 7 once my background check gets finished up.
Thanks man.
I belong to a range where we have lots and lots of steel targets between 100 and 1400 yards. The primary line has a 1 moa and a 2-3 moa sized target at each range.
I'd typically start with a cold bore shot between 600-1000 yards. After that I'd do simulated match stages...
I've told the story a couple times now but almost exactly a year ago, with my trusty 270 in hand, I watched a pretty good looking 5x5 bull feed on a hillside opposite me at 650 yards. He fed there for half an hour while I tried to close the gap but with all the open space between us I couldn't...
