Best Long Range Scopes Preferably under $1K?

Hi,

I am looking for some long range scopes with a good glass.

My Budget: $1000

Target Distance: 1000 yards (approx).

I was reading some guides but thought its better to get some reviews too.

I have a bushnell HDMR with the horus reticle - picked it up for about $950 as a display. Has 3.5x21 zoom. Should be enough for 1,000 yards. Tracking has worked great for me

The SHV has about 9 less mils of total elevation travel plus I believe it’s 5 mils per rev vs 10 like the swfa.

I’ve never played with the swfa but I setup my buddies CTR which he bought an SHV for and I really didn’t like the SHV compared to my LRHS.

On the LRHS I felt the zero stop was much better, I prefer the 10 mils per rev and my eyes saw the glass as far superior.

Absolutely. FFP vs. SFP alone is worth it.


The 5-20 SS is an exceptionally good scope.

I like the lrhs and the swfa hd. I have both, I prefer the lrhs as the turret is much less mushy and it has a no question zerostop. Optically it's better....but close. A shimmed swfa would not be a bad choice.

+2 on bushnell elite tactical. I have a 6-24 on my rifle and have shot it out to 1k. Glass is better than expected and they go for about 650. It's also FFP and has zero-stop turrets which work well.
