I just finished with Better.com. Was really easy, everything was online and they sent a notary to the house to sign the final paperwork. Couldn’t find anyone local that could beat both the fees and the rate, even got them to waive the appraisal.
I wore my Verde Gila all day today fly fishing in the Sierras, kinda looked like riperian camo IMO. Anyways, it did great in full sun, partial sun, and full shade keeping me from putting on sunscreen which I hate. Also noticed when there is a breeze the large hood helps catch the wind and direct...
My Instinct Solar is getting returned after a disaster of a trial run backpacking trip. I carry my phone and a Garmin 66i so adding the watch to the mix really just accomplished quickly draining all three batteries trying to keep them synced up. After using the watch to navigate to the...
My Instinct Solar just arrived, charging it now. It's replacing a 7 year old Casio Pro-Trek PRW-3000 that I have worn daily for all 7 of those years. Interested in the heart rate monitor tracking during hikes and how it integrates with my Garmin GPS66i. The GPS based sunrise/sunset/moon phases...
I almost bought a Gila hoodie on Monday but we were driving by the showroom today so I decided to wait and try it on first, I am usually between L and XL. Well I know I like the XL size but it’s sold out until 2022 :ROFLMAO:
If anyone bought 2 to try on and is thinking about returning an XL in...
Lovely. Figured they would with how well it went last year for them, just didn’t expect it this early. Next stop, year round closures.
edit: Collins Pines too for you C Zone folk
I've noticed that the clothing material, especially the inside of the garment, can make a huge difference. I started wearing an undershirt to have a consistent smooth base layer next to skin and it's really helped out.
Glad others mentioned the fishing, the Sierras are great. If you are conservative, look up the State of Jefferson and pick one of those counties. If not, stay where you are
Eastern Sierras:
Where are you moving from and what are you hunting? If you are moving somewhere specifically for the big game opportunities CA would be at the bottom of the list IMO.
Waterfowl is pretty good, lots of places you could get with a productive duck blind nearby.
I bought a Sierra6BDX in 3-18 right when they came out to go with my Kilo3000 binos. It's a pretty cool system but I realized that for the calibers I use and the typical game range it wasn't offering me enough benefit to justify its cost. I listed it in the optics section for what I paid for...
I posted this in another thread but Gulch Gear makes hot weather clothing and is made in USA. I used it last year and it worked well.

The Simms Headwaters Pro waders are still on closeout at Sierra Trading Post. They aren't as soft as the G3 and a little louder, but only $279 and are 3 layer Gore-Tex made in USA...
Depending on what and how you are carrying, but Grip6 has some options in belt width and stiffness. Not nearly as stiff as a Wilderness Tactical, but enough for me.
One last vent while I'm at it, here is what I am looking at for CA resident license/application fees this year. Perhaps I can look into disabled rates because we must be mental to keep paying these year after year. $51.02 for a black bear tag?
2021 - Hunting License (Res) $52.66
2021 -...
