Have you moved out of state?

I left SW CO in 2018 and moved to MT due to a job and being closer to my wife's family. The writing was on the wall then over poor political decisions and an ever increasing liberal population that wanted to end everything I hold dear. I'm in a better place and it was an improvement. I miss some...

If you could build any short action coyote gun…

Honestly this is Rokslide of coarse everybody is going to say 22 cm. From a guy with lots of experience 204 Ruger will be more durable friendly with the same knockdown power as your 223. 22-250, 22 cm, and 220 swift will kill them more dead but you better be willing to sew. I guess if I had to...

    Bear Grease

There's not a lot of fat on a spring bear but what is there does render down just fine. You get about 5x as much off a fall bear. In the fall they will load up on berries, acorns, in ag country they will hit oats and corn. Coastal bears aren't as good on account of their mostly fish diet.

    Everyone's 2024 Broadhead Results?

Everything I had a hand in this year was killed with a QAD exodus 125. Seems kind of boring and no change from the past 5 years really but hey they just work well and get the job done.

Gen MT vs Archery CO (Solo Backpack)

I lived in Colorado for 35 years and guided for 18 there are a lot more elk there than MT. I now live in MT been here for 7 years, the only good numbers of elk to be found are on private property, there are elk to be had and hunting can be good on public. It is definitely a tougher hunt in MT...

    Po"tay"to Po"ta"to ... is 70 70?

Best option is to get a good 5 pin sight with dual indicators (black gold, spot hog, axcel they all have the option) set it up so your 40 yard pin is close to centered ( 3rd pin). Use your housing adjustments to do this. Then do your 30 and 20 yard pins (second and first). Adjust pins only. Then...

    Sig Cross

I've had one in 6.5 cm now for about 4 years it shoots great and it's really not to heavy for a chasi rifle. Paired with a good lightweight scope it's a nice compact hunting rifle. I handload 140 grn eldms for it and get about .5 MOA and just over 2600 fps out of the 18.5" barrel. I've shot...

Any flyfishing raft guys? looking to buy one

I like Maravia I guided out of one for about 5 years and liked it a lot. I don't guide anymore but still have the raft for family trips. Prior to that I had a super Puma it wasn't as durable and didn't handle quite as well as the Maravia. I've rowed a couple of the newer Odyssey models recently...

    70-80 lb bows

250 spine, 125 Grn. Point, your total arrow weight will depend on the arrow you choose probably going to land somewhere between 485 to 515 Grns. With decent inserts 50 to 75 grains you should still be around 15% FOC.

How many of us regularly shoot at long distance for practice?

I regularly practice and shoot 3d out to 120+ yards I'm very confident in my long range shooting ability. I have a self imposed limit of 60 yards on game unless a long follow up is absolutely necessary. Animals move and conditions and terrain can all have disastrous effects on shot placement.
