I still question it….if Im over max by 3.5 and not compressed then I just don’t see how 55.7 is compressed at 2.955 and I’m at 3.1. If anybody has QL they could run the numbers real quick and see if their numbers are accurate with the different COAL.
In ADG brass at 59.2 I still have room. If I shake the case I can hear the powder moving around. But according to one of their charts I would be something like 110% full. I am running something like 3.1” oal, can’t remember exactly.
Yeah that’s different from the one they first published. Do you think the one above is extremely safe? Heck when I did my pressure test I started off with 57 of N565. Here’s the data they gave me.
What did they give you for load data? From what I’ve seen they have changed their data and their current data is more “safe”. I’m running 59.2 of N565 in ADG brass. On other forums people loose their shit and say I’m exceeding books; however, Berger gave me data of 59.9 max.
Agreed. Seems like they (two of main guys) like to discredit people and when they get challenged or called out they just delete post or shut down thread.
I’m looking to build a 6mm of some kind, does anybody have a situation where a small caliber failed? I know it probably doesn’t get...
I was watching a conversation over on Long Range Only about small calibers. I just got to say it was kind of comical how defensive those editors get over there. One guy was making an argument for small calibers and they kept saying he was wrong and Form “a god from another site” was also...
I shot 2 deer this season with a Berger 215 and I have to say I will never use this bullet on whitetail again. It’s just too destructive. The second picture only holding the shoulder/leg was a tiny piece of skin otherwise it would have blown the shoulder/leg completely off……this is just a...
That’s good to know. I didn’t realize going from virgin to 1x fired would make that big of difference, but like everybody is mentioning I’m on the edge of pressure.
I’m probably going to disassemble my firing control so I can get accurate headspace and bump shoulder accordingly.
Yeah I trim per Berger’s reloading manual “trim length”. I’m starting to think it’s because of the sizing and not bumping the shoulder any yet. I think I’m going to test two different things: 1. Reduce charge. 2. Try sizing back to .003 BTS of virgin brass.
@SloppyJ yeah the gun is new (built by the man Dallas), but I got about 300 rounds down it. I believe it already sped up cuz I had to back down my charge already. I was loading 59.9 and had to back down to 59.2 to get same velocity.
My neck tension is at .001”. They are all loaded at .020”...
@huntnful I would agree that I’m into pressure and I think you’re right and need to back down a grain see what happens. When I did a ladder test to find pressure I made it to 60.4 before I had hard bolt lift. I know that there are other signs that show pressure but I always take it to hard...
