Brace height is mostly affecting sound and vibration of the string. It will affect tuning but not as much arrow spine changes or a bad release. Don’t go below the manufacture recommended BH and find a spot that sounds the best and feels the best to you.
Trad vanes would be the go to but I have shot AAE hybrids off a springy, weather rest and a flipper rest. Its more about the clearance to the shelf with the arrow elevated on the rest. The sidewall contact should be taken care of by paradox of a tuned arrow.
I had one because I wanted to try a wood ilf riser. It was great I killled one deer with it and sold it for what I paid minus shipping. No complaints at all about it for the money.
Everyone is gonna love different bows. I have six different bows including custom built recurves and longbows. I shoot my satori with Uukha limbs the best and I have the most confidence with it so it gets the nod. Shoot as many as you can and enjoy the ride.
Just wanted to give an update on this and let everyone know that WDFW has extended the comment period until 5pm on November 1st. The links above in my original post will still take you right to it. During the public comment period in the live meeting with WDFW there was a large consortium of non...
Yeah after I replied I kept scanning! I still think an average guy can pick up good info from them. Sucks those areas are losing hunting opportunities and THP should be more careful about posting locations. Although in the states they were paid I kinda look at it like they were doing their job...
I don't want you to take this as blasting your comments because I am not. I am genuinely curious how you know that those states paid them to hunt public and then influence it on the show? Hearsay or actual documents? Public land everywhere is being overrun because the gain in popularity of diy...
I have had good success this time of year getting them to respond to predator calls. I set up within close proximity to fresh sign and use a fawn in distress or rabbit in distress call. I use an e caller because you have to keep them interested they will stop coming if you stop calling too long...
WDFW is requesting input from hunters on the 2022 and beyond Spring bear hunts in WA. You don't have to be a resident to have an opinion but the more residents that comment the better obviously. I am a board member for the WA state bowhunters representing the east side of the state. This is a...
If you are going after a wall tent I dont think Davis tent can be beat for quality. My 14x16 with internal frame is easy to setup by myself and it is bombproof. They always run specials if you are patient you can save some coin.
I shot 62 for along time then switched to 64 when I went to an ILF riser and now I am shooting a 66. For me the longer bow is alot more stable and I dont notice the length from a tree or stalking. If I hunted from a man made blind alot I would go back to a 62. But for me the 66 is more forgiving...
It always amazes me how well an olympic archer can shoot! Jake can flat shoot and that was a good comparison of Uukhas to other limbs he has shot. I could care less about the speed for myself but I really am interested in the soft back side for how I shoot. I tend to hold a bit longer than...
Thought I would share a recap of my first hunt of the year! I was lucky enough to be invited down to Texas to hunt with Top O Texas outfitters for Barbary Sheep and Javalinas at the end of January. What a great hunt! I went with a group that was only shooting stick bows and would be hunting Ewes...
