I have move faith in high mileage vehicles that are old enough not to have variable displacement engines. Bad shit seems to happen after a 150K+ miles of switching between 4 and 8 cylinders.
Been running a Kifaru med box stove since before Kifaru was trendy. 5-10 min setting it up, couple dings from being thrown around over the years but its still going strong.
Like other said, its more about your sleep system than the tipi/stove. I dont know anyone that keeps a backpacking stove stoked all night. Theyre nice for warming up and/or drying stuff out but you cant load them up and count on long term heat especially with crappy mountain fuel (spruce, aspen).
I personally wouldnt sweat it, I'd just upen the barrel channel and call her good. I went to measure mine then realised its a sendero light not the sendero.
I worked as a temp for them one holiday season and was quite surprised by the gifts/tips the driver got. While I've never even thought about tipping a UPS driver, plenty of people do.
Never been on a guided hunt but I always thought tipping everyone on staff at camp was just part of the norm.
So, should we just keep talking shit about each other and see where that gets us on this one? I guess on the plus side a couple folks might have found out about a petition to stop it that they didnt know about before the whole thread got reduced to name calling, ego stroking and dick measuring...
They're great to have and work most the time but my lithium jump starter fully charged shows half charge at at best when its -5 out. Works to jump the gasser but it wouldn't do crap to jump my diesel when the batteries crapped out a couple winters ago.
In my experience, the smaller the single wall shelter, the worse the condensation unless your venting by pitching off the ground a bit or leaving zippers/door open a bit. Kinda defeats the purpose of why I fire up my stove to leave stuff open though. It practically rained in my mega tarp with...
8 man with no liner, 2 people and a stove this year. 5 or so degrees the first night set up on snow stove blasting and had about a 36" frost line when we got up the next morning. Previous years with 3 people snoring in there and the frost line will usually be clear to the peak of the tipi if I...
That right there is the reason I started doing my own. Went in to a local shop and saw them grinding nasty stuff that I woudnt even feed to my dog. Didnt look to bad all ground up though.... maybe thats why so many people dont think they like game meat??
