    Stratus Bibs

I am the same size as you and wear a size large in the Stratus bibs. I like them a lot and wear them down to the low 30s.

    Best heated socks?

I have used the Lenz socks for many years for deer hunting and winter steelhead fishing. You can control the heat setting for each sock from a phone app. Yes they are crazy expensive but I don’t think about that when my feet are warm.

What Manufacturer Uses Mothwing or Mountain Mimicry Camouflage?

I have a storage bin full of it I haven’t used in many years. When I get motivated I’ll probably list it for sale.

    Whitetail outerwear

For 30 - 50 the Stratus line is what you are looking for. You can push the Stratus down into the 20s but the Fanatic line is much better for 20 - 30.

    Sitka mid layer insulation help

I agree with the advice to get a puffy if you want minimal bulk. I have the midi and hardly ever use it under my Stratus jacket as a puffy works better for me.

Heated clothing = makers, and how many fewer layers?

I could get by hunting without the Lenz socks if I needed to. But they have been a game changer for when I steelhead fish in the winter. I would have a hard time fishing now without them.

Heated clothing = makers, and how many fewer layers?

I believe I have the series 5. I bought them three years ago and they have gone up substantially in price. I usually don’t use my Lenz socks for temps above the low 20s. My guess is you could get away with using them in the insulated Crispis but it would depend on how long you were on...

    Dr Warm Heated Socks

Have the Steger mukluks. Very comfortable, warm enough if moving, poor traction. For electric socks get the Lenz socks. Very pricey but extremely warm for stand hunts.

Small Hunting / House / Mountain Dog

l have hunted with beagles since I was a young boy. They have plenty of rascal in them. Great dogs but they like to bark as in a lot, as was mentioned before they do not like water, they will do fairly well on birds but if they hit a rabbit you will be rabbit hunting and if left outside around...

    Heated Jacket

Less bulky option is the Pnuma heated vest. Instant heat. Get an extra battery.

    Fly Fishing Waders

Agree on the Redingtons. I bought a pair years ago to backup my Patagonias but liked the fit so much the Redingtons became my primary waders. Also the company stands by its warranty.

New to tree stands - let’s hear how you do it!

Lots of good advice so far. There are many hang on stands that are safe to hunt from. Besides the safety factor you want a stand that is easy to hang and comfortable. There is nothing worse than hunting from an uncomfortable stand. The Millennium M50 is an ideal hang on stand. For climbing...

    Kuiu Burner Parka

If weight is not a issue to you I would consider the Skre Guardian. It has 2.1 more ounces of 850 fill than the Burner but weighs 13 ounces more. It is currently on sale for $245.

Another hunting dog questions IM SORRY.

Either you train your dog or he trains you. As to a beagle as a pet, wonderful dog but you better like barking and any scent he finds interesting and he is off to the races.
