I think I did see it somewhere once but thought it might be handy. I carry a pocket knife every day but thought of leaving that at home so I don’t lose it and didn’t really think I needed another knife with as I have a couple already. I will just stick with the pocket.

Was thinking it would be nice to access but that wouldn’t be a terrible idea either. Not hard to take the twist tie off

Hi, leaving for my third elk hunt in a couple days and super jacked for it! Anyways, I got an altitude and love the knife. Wondering how many people hang it from their neck and if so have you ever had any problems with doing so? Seems pretty snug but would hate to have it come out somehow...
I have some of about all of them. Sg and Sitka I use the most. Can’t say enough about sg customer service also. They have been top notch!

8 days and that includes 2 days of travel for me. Also hoping for more time some day, but this is better than nothing!

I am honestly really only hoping to hear a few bugles and be within shooting distance this year. The last few years haven’t been real great for that! Haha

I wear a 34 minimum up to 36 depending on brands. The stone glacier dehavilland lites are almost too long, and I like them long. The regular dehavillands are not quite as long but close. My favorite pants.

I do understand your logic, but I do not know any area really so I was thinking hoping for bugles would be second best. But I think I have decided to go to this area and try to expand on the little knowledge I have of it.

I’m definitely going to look more in to calling sequences. I have looked through some but feel I need to do more. I have almost committed to this area, I just can’t 100% decide

I have actually been working on my elk calling off and on since about 2018. I don’t think I am too bad at it and have watched a fair amount of your stuff and have your app. I have not seen your hunting in dark timber video but I will certainly check it out! I would really like to have an...
This is all good info and kind of sounds like I am on the right track if I decide to hunt there. I have looked it over a ton on topo and have a lot of benches, saddles, etc marked on my map. I have not heard of the flat where the creek is so I will dive in to that as well. Just so hard to know...
Thanks for the tips so far! Just not sure if it’s worth it to go back there or look somewhere else. There does seem to be elk there and if they are talking I think it would be fun. Could be really tough if not, at least with my little experience

I believe there “should” be ample water and it seems like the very few open places are a small chunk on a ridge line. I have the few of those marked, just not sure how much they would use those places. Most are on the south side of the ridge. Also, the area isn’t “extremely” steep and probably...
So I am debating on going to a place that has a vast expanse of dark timber. I have done a ton of research on e-scouting and am trying to put a plan together. I just am not sure if all of the same applies. A lot talks about north facing timber, benches, etc, but is that still just as important...
I have the medium/large talls and they are long. About how I like them or just a bit longer. I have the lites and the regulars in that size and the lites are longer for some reason. I usually wear a 33/36
