Found the bullet from the buck I shot after Thanksgiving.
It was separated core from the jacket but probably only a 1/2" apart. Was 180 grs Came out at 130grs combined.
Not sure if I would worry about this though as the bullet didn't take a "typical" path through the buck. Hit it left side...
It's around 100 bucks here. That's for someone to boil it and bleach it.
A buddy got beetles as a hobby so he's been doing them for us to keep them feed. We skin the head remove brain tongue and eyes. Usually a week or two and get a skull cleaned and ready to bleach.
What's cool is he will...
1. We are insulated from Europe. I don't think any country is crazy enough to try and invade the US.
2. The military age people that have come in the US I don't see as a real threat. Yes they could attack and cause some caos but not loose the country to then.
3. Even with our weakened military...
I work in a resort/high end private community that's over 4500 acres. See deer daily walking through my construction sites, the golf courses. They have 0 fear of people, well at least the does. Don't hardly ever see a buck besides during the rut.
there are places here on public where if you want to kill a big buck you gotta be there 4-5 days straight. It could be the only deer you see the whole time. they like to make loops of "their ridges and mountains" if you stay in one spot long enough hes gonna come by.
also i cant stand to hunt...
I think it's just nature of the beast. I've hunted with a guy that has a beeper collar that has a locate only function (push a button it beeps) for the very situation you are talking about.
In the thick stuff it really comes in handy. It's why I still run a bell in thick grouse woods cover
ya i just ordered a costal offroad bumper for it. Im going to weld it up and color match it to the truck.
The XD has an electric (magnet operated) rear locker. only thing that sucks is you have to be in 4low to turn it on. I have looked it up to find a work around for that.
In college looking for a Halloween costume. I found a collared shirt that had "Daddy" embroidered on it where a name would go.
Let's just say I wore it to a week's worth of parties and the hunting was easy
If your at all interested in a French brittany and happen to be in the southeast or willing to be there georgia/albama line first week of December. We are having the yearly trial there this year. Pretty much every top breeder of EBs will be there and probably close to 500 dogs to view and they...
2019 nissan titan xd has worked well for me. Large enough to fit 4 grown men and gear and Dogs. small enough to fit down most trails and 2 tracks. camper shell has a leer rack in the top to hold most gear you need. bed is carpeted and insulated. if your going solo camping in the truck bed is...
You nailed the French Brittany's. They are crazy but I love it. All of mine are super sweet dogs. And if you exercise them they really aren't bad in the house... now if you don't they will destroy everything
Most of the deer I hunt in the mountains I'm going to be under 50 yards. I'm also using a 45-70 with a 1-4 scope. Down middle of the state where I hunt I can make 150 yards from a lock on pretty easy. Climbers 200 if I can use the climber to get stable. From the ground anything 400 and under if...
If your interested in a small frame brittany. I'd suggest a French brittany. I have 4 of them usually they are 40 lbs max. Ages 13 to almost 1 now. They take turns going to work with me.
