I've been running Kuiu for the last 3 years now. I'm looking at the First Lite Pants and I want something comparable to the Kuiu Teton (I prefer the Teton to the attack pant). I think I'll eventually end up with both Kanab's and Corrugate Guide pants but I would like something that will shed...
I've been to FHL a few times.. I love it there, but I never had the opportunity to hunt. Dublin is in between San Fran and Stockton. I initially thought of driving down to FHL to hunt but was going to try something a little closer if possible. I did some research on guided hunts but for...
I didn't know where else to post this so I'm putting it under this forum. I'm headed out to Camp Parks near Dublin CA this January for a few weeks for work. I was wanting to maybe take a few days on the back end of my trip (19th -22nd) to try and capitalize on a wild pig archery hunt. Being a...
I've been curious, like many of us, just how good you have to be in order for calling to be successful. Last night 8-28-16 I was doing a little scouting and happened across a herd of about 80 elk. there were 4 spikes and 1 rag horn, the rest were cows and calves. I watched an listened as they...
I live just North of that Unit, but have not hunted it. Pretty steep and deep from the outside looking in. I talked to the biologist about that unit a while back. I'll see if I can find her name and number and I'll pass that along.
Things are finally back on track for me.. Back from a long time in the field. Took my family creek fishing on Sunday. Overall, I'm feeling good. I feel leaner and just generally have more energy. Monday I did an easy 4 mile run on the road. Tuesday was sprint work. Tomorrow I should be...
Update: hand foot and mouth has managed to make its way through the house.. I'm going on day 3 of feeling like absolute crud. I managed to jump on the scale at the end of last week and was 170.5.. I'm still out in the field and we are just finishing our last range day. Haven't made it into a...
This picture was after coming out of the basin on the first day's 2.5 mile trail run.
This is a picture of my 2yo daughter while I was cleaning the kokanee.
Alright here we go.. I'm starting this off at 5'8" and 174#. I have a 33" waist. My goal is to drop to 160# by 1 September. I'll settle for 165# if it feels better. To start off the week, I did a 2.5 mile trail run. It had rained all weekend including the day I went so the trail was pretty...
Promotive.com has insider pricing for professionals in the outdoor industry or in Military/LE/EMS. There's a ton of different brands on there from big Agnes to paddle boards to food. If you fit their criteria I'd say get in on it!
BBalash thanks for the info. I've been contemplating the same promotive deal. It sucks that it's twice the weight of the cimmarron but it's 70d vs 30d nylon and its 1/2 the cost. I've seen a few places where guys have added a stove jack which I would eventually do.
Trying to decide between a few different Shelters. Wanted to know if anyone has used the Mountain Guide Tarp? I've read a few different reviews of the Seek Outside Cimmarron and heard good things. Would love to hear some opinions or first hand experiences..
I'll throw my name in the hat as well. 29 year old male. 5'8" 174lbs. I would love to get back to around 160 lbs before Elk season while maintaining the strength I have. I was a two sport collegiate athlete (football and track).. Currently I'm a Soldier and am headed out to Washington for...
