Meopta MeoStar 10x42 are great binoculars. I have compared them side by side tripod mounted to the latest slcs and els and the meoptas left nothing to be desired for me. Also I feel the eye ups are the best quality out of everything in that price range. They are very similar to slcs to my eyes...
Spika drover 40 liter from Amazon. On sale for around 200 bucks or less and they are very durable packs. Reminds me a lot of my K2 3500 exo but less then half the price and comes with all the accessories. On par build quality with my mystery ranch and exo. I spent a day trying to critique the...
Christenson Mesa FFT 22" 1:8 twist. About 40 rounds down the pipe when I got my averages. How much can I expect to see this speed up?
Father in-law was getting 2910 fps average with 180 eldm out of his fierce. Was a little underwhelmed.
180 eldm @ 2760 average
175 eldx @ 2816 average
Is it worth doing two trips? Everytime I decide I would rather suffer really bad once. That being said, my hunting partner and I both shot deer 9.5 miles from the truck in breaks country. We both had a deer + camp on our back and tried to hammer through it. Got two miles from the truck and had...
I just bought a mesa fft in 7prc and it shoots lights out. I was skeptical because I bought a mesa chambered in 6.5 prc 3 years ago and it was all over the place but my dealer told me they fired the quality control manager that was running them into the ground and stepped up there qc and...
Ordered two 20" 6.8 western barrels from Gene at carbon six. They took twice as long as expected to get. One shoots under .3 with handloads and one shoots around a half inch with factory.
I have a pair of lowa baffin pros that have a more square toe box. They were a little sloppy until I put super feet trailblazer insoles. Very comfy boots. The lowa Tibets appear to be the same shape but are waterproof
I really like the new Peaks I saw at the show but it's smaller then my lite outdoors and the same weight.
The tent looked legit though and with the extra supports looked like it would do better in wind and also offer more hanging space to dry out gear.
Maybe checkout lite outdoors.
I have the Plateau 5. It's a palace for 2 with a stove and have had 3 with a stove but wouldn't hurt to try the isola 4 for a single or 2 with a stove.
The stove is the cylinder style but super lightweight and all in when I bought my setup I was half the price of a...
My buddy Ani is a Molokai native and to keep the flies off they have one guy break a branch off a tree and fan the deer while the other guy breaks down the animal (usually with reggae music playing in the background).
Hunted Molokai twice now. One of the most fun hunts a guy can have. Talked my wife into tagging along with me when we were on an anniversary trip to Oahu last month and she said it was the best part of the whole trip and she's not a hunter so I was surprised.
Elk and axis deer top the list for...
Just emailed him. This looks like a great compromise for weight. Had the Gerber with the sliding sheath because its so light but it's also a serious knuckle buster. Thanks for the info
Here me out here because I feel you can have your cake and eat it too for $1500. Athlon ares uhd 65mm spotter (great spotter on a budget), slik fluid head with decent tripod and a good pair of 10's or 12's (I use meopta meostar hd 10x42). If you shop around you could get all 3 with your budget...
