Hello! I’m looking for info or experience with either Carbon Six or X-caliber or any other Tikka prefit carbon barrels. Are they any good? Worth the price? Looking at building a 20”-22”, 270 Win to run suppressed shooting out to 400-500ish yards at most. Likely will run a 1:8 or 1:9 twist and shoot 150ablr or something similar. Main purpose of rifle will be antelope and deer.

I have a 20” carbon six 300wsm barrel on a tikka. I haven’t really tried to shoot tiny groups with it yet, but just quickly sighting in with it after getting my suppressor last week when it was 10 degrees it was doing 5 shots under an inch with factory Norma ammo

I also had a really good experience with the company. When I called to order, the guy had to put me on hold for less than 5 minutes while he finished something and gave me 10% off for it.

I recently did 2 Carbon Six pre fits. A 300wsm 24 inch and a 6.5 creedmoor 20 inch on tikka actions and both are shooting under .5 groups with berger handloads. I had great customer service from them and have another barrel on order currently.

I own both, they seem to shoot sub MOA just fine. They use similar quality barrel blanks and rifling techniques.

The last time I looked (been a while) Xcaliber did not offer as many carbon barrel profiles.

I have a carbon 6 in a 6 creed. It’s a great shooting rifle. It will shoot Hornady black 105gr under .3 MOA. Took a little longer to get than I expected but it turned out really well.

Have an X-Caliber and like it. Haven't shot a load of rounds out of it but I went back and forth between the same two. I don't think you can go wrong with either...

What bullet are you shooting and what twist did you go with?

Ordered two 20" 6.8 western barrels from Gene at carbon six. They took twice as long as expected to get. One shoots under .3 with handloads and one shoots around a half inch with factory.
