In the prs world alpha is the number 1 choice by far for brass 2nd is lapua and 3rd in peterson and peterson is becoming more popular
you will not see much of a difference for the kind of shooting you describe
I would suggest finding local club PRS matches to shot. it's probably could be the most helpful. You are building and breaking positions in a short time constraint. NRl is good but you can get more shooting out of prs. NRL you can end up spending lots of time finding target and not much time...
Even if you have to shoot skills. You will still have fun shooting and you can kind of shoot each stage how you want. I.E. you can make it more challenging by shooting it blind with no help or tell the RO the level of help you may won't. Also it would be hard to shoot the variety of stages at...
I have a mountain tactical bm I like it however with my 6.5cm in the stockys vg hunter it does not feed reliably. It does feed just fine when using the factory BM in the vg stock.
The mountain tactical BM does work fine in the vg stock with my 30-06 action
I trash mine at the end of the season and get a new one every year. I have cleaned and dried them and found them to have mold after storage in the past. It somewhat comes down how much you want to chance probably getting sick.
