I had a pair of the Walker RAZORs, they didn't even last 1 season. First time they got really wet, they shorted out and were ruined.
I've had a pair of 3M Peltor TEP 100s for a few years now. Probably shot 8 to 10 PRS matches with them in various weather conditions, and I use then while hunting...
Rings like the Seekins PMR don't need to be lapped, and the manufacturers specifically state not to lap them. Lapping good rings doesn't fix any alignment issues, it will only compound issues by making the rings out of spec.
If the mounting holes in a receiver are mis-aligned then bigger...
If you're loading for .308, Midway has some .308 TA loaded ammo.
Finding component bullets for TA has been pretty much impossible, I've been keeping an eye out for about 6 months and haven't seen any component bullets available.
That's an awesome bear! What yardage was the shot? Looks like the AB's did what they were supposed to do.
Only shooting a few shots a year is one option. But, I want to shoot this gun a few times a year, and take it to a mile+ on steel. My intent was to average 200 rounds a year on it, really...
Have read that's a good combo, and I have 10lbs of Retumbo. Problem is the 200 Accubonds, and 210 LR Accubond's are impossible for me to find.
I think I have a box of 50 of the 200's, never loaded them up and tested them. If I knew I could buy a few hundred of them I'd load then up in a heartbeat.
Shot the Bondstrike loaded ammo out of my 300 RUM today. It shot quite well.
Have more on order to test velocity, and shoot out to longer range
Has anyone nailed down a real world BC for the 180gr bondstrike? The .615 G1 on the box seems optimistic.
Haven't tried handloading anything under 200 grains, but that looks like it's in order.
I put in an order of 200 rounds of factory ammo for this Norma Bondstrike. That will get me through this fall and into spring. Trying a few bullets in the 175 to 190 class probably is in order from this...
Interesting day at the range. This rifle has been an off and on project for a while. Haven't been able to get it to shoot well with 200 ELDX's, 220 ELDX's, and lately the new 205 Bergers.
Rifle is:
Rem 700 Long action (circa 2001) blue printed/trued
Original trigger, tuned
26in Krieger heavy...
You're assuming traveling under normal air travel conditions. 3 VP's at my company ended up having their 1pm flight delayed by 6 hours this on the way home from the west coast, simply because there was no crew to fly the plane. They sat in the airport for 6 hours and every 30 min got...
Cost difference between driving and flying isn't the major factor right now, imo. Unreliable flights are.
I'm driving up to Newfoundland mostly because I don't want to risk cancelled flight and delays.
I bought 3 pairs of the Wrangler stretch cargo pants because of this thread.
Love them. Pretty much have worn them every day for the last 4 to 5 months.
I got a moose in Newfoundland with my .308 shooting 178gr ELDx Hornady Precision. Ammo is very accurate from my gun, and the bullet went through the entire moose, mushroomed well, and we found it stuck in the far hide. Moose ran 100 yards or so down a drainage.
I'd have no hesitations using the...
Federal has been the same. The Gen 3 TBT bullets were all the rage a few years ago, but they hardly produced any bullets or ammo. Now the Gen 4 (Terminal Ascent) line looks awesome but same thing, it's impossible to find after an initial run.
