been looking for a decent bag to store my waders and boots in and found most to be overpriced in my eyes. Wondering if kuiu’s tote bags hold up over time, probably would end up using it for other things outside of carrying my waders. If anyone owns them, have they held up to moderate use? Decent...
I learned a couple of things that day that I would do differently.
One, I try to avoid solo hunting especially in my area but I’ve been so damn determined to succeed on my own it gets the best of me sometimes, and I just walk out my door and go for it.
Two, be mindful of where I quarter out...
Come on up!
I only started seriously hunting a few years ago... Got a little spoiled with where I live. It's a sacred place and I'm thankful for it every day.
I had a bit of an interesting day on November 2nd in Southeast Alaska.
Woke up early to hunt a muskeg behind my home, it’s about an hour walk/climb through some rough terrain and thick brush. I didn’t have high expectations and hadn’t had any luck with blacktails so far. A minute into the...
Thank you. I know Texas is massive, is it reasonable to plan hunts in other parts of the state that may have easier public access? Not opposed to travel.
Hey all,
Weighing my options for 2025 when I have to move again for work. Currently living in SE Alaska, I absolutely love living here but I need to get some career variety for future opportunities, and frankly its time to thaw out for a bit as I've been consistently living in cold places for...
He is.. not sure what the outcome will be on the UCMJ side for him.
Im not attached to his unit, word traveled around quick on base. I don't like to speculate, but Id imagine its not going to go over well for him on the military side. The district Admiral that oversees all Alaska Coast Guard...
coworker just picked up that REI pack while we were in WA for work... We fussed over a lot of the packs there before he settled on that one and I think he made a good purchase.
When I lived in Wisconsin, my go-to for whitetail hunting was my kuiu 1800 day pack. Im still using it in Alaska for...
Had an odd experience last fall in Bridger-Teton NF.. I took some friends out west on a road trip, no hunting just exploring. We had a friend fly in to Jackson Hole Airport and had managed to secure one of the dispersed sites in Spread Creek dispersed camping area before he landed. We pitched a...
Update on field usage... no idea what this whole setup weighs, but its been great slogging along through muskegs this past weekend and going through timber and brush. tucks up nicely against my pack while slung too.
Looking to buy a black first lite wick hoody, and a black first lite kiln hoody.
Wick must be large, kiln can be a medium but I prefer large. Missed out on both of these when first lite still offered black gear.
I have a set of OR foray rain gear that’s held up in a solid downpour in SE Alaska. Most likely will be upgrading to SG M5 gear soon as I don’t trust the OR stuff to hold up to the terrain here over time.
The foray gear is a little heavier than the helium, and also has full length side zips on...
Forgot to add… the copyright is my Instagram photography page, @precisionshot_photography. I’m no expert but try to post my best wildlife and outdoor work on there when I have time.
I had an awesome experience while on a work trip through Oregon. We had a stop in Astoria, and I was driving the coast with friends when we saw a small herd of elk passing through Seaside. We pulled over and I set up about 100 yards away from them.
I’ll be damned if I didn’t start taking...
