I did this too, but I poured it into molds that I made for 25lb weights. I have an old surplus pack i use just for training so the weight just stays in there. To do anything in between 25 and 50lbs I use dumbell plates inside as well. Averaging about 4 mi two to three times a week around the...
Great idea, I wouldn't have thought about using a sheet of kydex In the pocket and screw posts. I'm not sure it would be comfortable with my chosen pistol because of bulk, but I think I'm going to give it a try.
Hydration bladder pouch is done, shoulder straps done - all I have left are the straps to attach to my shoulder holster/ bino harness mashup. The blaze patch is attached via velcro and can be pu tu on the inside of the flap if wanted. I made the pouch tonfit two different bladders from the...
I have glued velcro to the foam inside a Pelican case with contact cement from a hardware store and from Tandy leather. I had about a 75% success rate with it holding but I was attaching it to open cell foam.
Just a quick update, The source bladder came in and with the extra width this thing is thin and it doesn't look like it will have that SCUBA tank on your back feel. I have a design drawn up and plan to start the cutting and sewing this weekend depending on what events come up. I am thinking...
Thank you for all the ideas. After looking at all of them my plan changed slightly. I bought a Source Tactical ILPS bladder (
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008YNB324/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_5CEjFbWRDG0KQ) because it looks like it is really thin due to the width - it's actually made to fit inside...
I know that this is a very old thread, but if you sew more Hypalon on a non-walking foot machine a little trick is to add blue painters tape to the surface that the Hypalon will slide on. I did it to both my foot and the needle plate. that and going slow I was able to get what I wanted done.
Thanks I'll have to look at those. Right now I've been leaning toward the Source Tactical Razor because it looks like it is really low profile. Right now I am using a shoulder holster I made mashed up to an alaska guide creations bino pouch and thought I might be able to adapt that to fit

Does anyone carry their water bladder on their bino harness with a backpack? I'm thinking of crafting one up using one of the lower profile bladders so that if I drop pack to put a stock on my water is with me all the time.

Has anyone heard of this brand? I am looking to get some binos for my young daughter to use on hunts and saw these in my searches. they seem decent, but can't find much info on them, and would like to buy something that will be decent and last for a while.
Thanks
Thanks, I had thought about the rigid MOLLE panels too, but I'm cheap and had all of this on hand. I seem to remember a similar concept in a catalog 10+ years ago marked to military but it had sewn in pockets instead and was yellow. Wish I could remember who made it.
I bought a new pack this year (Eberlestock Little Big Top). I like the pack size layout etc, but is seems no manufacturer is putting in much along the lines of organization these days, so last night I whipped up an insert panel to attach PALS pouches to to help with that. I made it so I could...
Got the pics this morning. Disregard the pic quality took them.on my phone before I had coffee. I look back and see I have learned a ton since I started.
I made one from some 3 color desert 1000d and quilted batting for a cheap celestron c-65 (good luck finding a case for that). I'll try to get some photos tomorrow. Was the first sewing project for hunting and after many years away from the machine, she ain't pretty but she works.
Has anyone rigged up an Eberlestock Tred Barta pack to an external frame, Eberlestock or otherwise. I like the pack, but am looking for more hauling capacity. If so would you please share your experiences? Thanks
