I didn't read through all the replies, but its likely quite a bit over the years, like 5 digits easy. Some of this was upgrading equipment I already had though. If I were starting fresh, I would buy the majority of my gear used. A lot of people will use their gear for a hunt or two and put it up...
I've never had an issue flying with guns and/or bows. I've only ever used two locks (never a TSA lock) and never had one cut off. I've also never had any trouble at the ticket counter. I've always flown United.
10 miles is pretty far off. Do you have cell service where you're going? Are you hunting from the truck or packing in? If so, I'd just monitor Inciweb while you're out if you have service. If not, it may be worth talking to the local park ranger and letting them know where you're planning on...
Put me in the camp that, "it depends". If it's on the hike in with a full load (50-60 lbs), 2-3K over a couple miles is a butt kicker. With a day pack its much different.
You're looking at ~10,000ft in elevation over 5 miles just to get to your area? Maybe I'm the exception, but that sounds...
Wife and I are picking up a new car in Logan, UT and looking for a good place to stay in and around SLC for the night. I looked at Park City, but its a bit spendy. Looking to stay fairly close to I80 as we will be heading east to get back home. Don't really want to stay downtown. What are some...
3.89 in Casper.
Prices have been dropping like crazy over the last 10 days or so. Usually all of our stations are within a cent or two, but there have been some big gaps as it has fallen.
1. Elk are where you find them.
2. Get in shape...then get in better shape.
3. Practice shooting...then practice some more.
4. Don't leave elk to find elk.
5. Have fun!
Do a search. A guy picked up a commissioners tag a year or so ago and got some good info, shot a great bull too. You could certainly reach out to him for some help.
Good luck, lets us know how she does.
I've got very limited time with the NL's and no time with Maven. If you've got the money, go with Swaro. At the very least go look at the Swaro's in person. I was blown away with the pair I looked through and I'm running SLC's. From what I've read the Maven's are good, but they aren't Swarovski...
Amazon has the Rock Chucker and Rebel presses discounted to about $132...plus RCBS is running a rebate right now for another $35.
I'm not sure you can find a better deal for a good press.
On day 5 right now, although it seems to be getting better. Thankfully, I think my case has been relatively mild. I've had some mild aches, fever, fatigue, and I did get a bad sore throat that I thought was strep. I can feel it in my chest but it's not too bad. I've also lost most of my smell...
The only silver lining (if you'd even call it that), is that the POS took the room temperature challenge and won't burden the justice system. The scumbag politicians that immediately start pushing a narrative certainly aren't doing anything to help.
I can't imagine what the family's are going...
