    I thought about it, and still might. My can was in jail for 9 months and I still hadn't made up my mind when I finally got my stamp about a month ago. One of my great concerns was balance intersected with reducing overall length and velocity. My gun shot great and carried great without the can.

    Winchester. Nicer action, easier to swap trigger, more scope ring options. I have a 77 '06 and winny featherweight 270 - despite chambering differences the winny is a nicer gun off the rack.

    I've found the OEM rings to be quite good, there's several different heights in either 1" or 30mm. Leupold makes some too. I have never tried the Warne example, but they look pretty stout!

    I have a Winchester 101 that I love. I also have a Browning Maxxus II Ultimate that I reach for 10/10 times when shooting clays. Only time the 101 has come out of the safe in the last few years is during the olympic shooting matches and my son wanted to handle it.
