I have a deer at Borderland Taxidermy now, hopefully he does a good job! There is also a processor in Malta that does a great job, although I can't remember their name.
Finally, I think that FWP did away with the no moving bones/heads out of CWD zones because the 2020 regs make no mention of...
I shot both the Too Simple (short head) and First Choice (long head) as well as the Nock 2 It (a two finger Wise Choice). I would suggest that the index loop on the Wise Choice is incredibly beneficial for hunting because it allows you to manipulate objects like a rangefinder with the release...
Montana Black Gold makes 7 pin moveable sights, I actually run mine with 6 pins. Great sight, great customer service, simple and effective adjustments, very durable, bright pins.
Not sure if it's normal, but clearly either your form or the way you are looking through the sight has changed. I'd take a few shots through paper with both and I'd bet you'd see a nock right tear with the hinge, or nock left with the caliper. If so I would then think about the position of my...
I nearly spewed my beverage all over my keyboard when I clicked on the pic...I bet the Elk Reaper would laugh his ass off at that one from the vault. Maybe I should dump my Kifaru and give Badlands another shot, I mean if the Elk Reaper says they are the real deal they must be.
I got lucky and pulled a mountain goat tag with 11 points. I'm excited but reality has set in that the Beartooths will be a potentially brutal hunt, especially if I don't get it done before the snow flies. Looks like my kids will have to be resigned to a lot of summer scouting with me as I...
I was fortunate enough to pull a tag in the Beartooth Mountains of Montana after about 20 years of applying. I'm pretty excited but intimidated by the scale of these mountains. I've spent a lot of time there fishing and seen lots of goats, but most of the specific area I drew is new to me. I...
So I was a more than a little surprised to find out I'd drawn a mountain goat tag in MT for district 514 in the Beartooths this year. I live close to the district, plan on scouting a lot, and already have a call in to the area biologist. I've spent an enormous amount of time fishing in the...
I cut mine to be the measured draw length of the bow or maybe a max of 1/2" shorter. I don't like blades behind my fingers, and some of the heads I've shot have blades that sweep back behind the front of the shaft. This puts the end of the shaft 1/2" to 1" or so in front of the riser, which...
Why so much hate for the old tensioner? I LOVE that thing, works great, never slips, easy to loosen and retighten for tuning. I've run them on both my bows since the rest came out without a single issue or fail.
So I didn't read through all of the responses, but my biggest piece of advice is to go as minimal as possible, especially if you plan to hunt with camp on your back. You can't be prepared for every situation so don't try. Just be prepared for the weather you will encounter, water availability...
I think the 452 gr would be more deadly for me because of the tighter pin gaps for gap shooting at longer distances. BTW that is pretty much exactly what I shoot in terms of weight and FPS. But if you hit the same spot with both obviously the heavier arrow would be better.
Kind of tough to tell but it looks OK to me, front shoulder is down, elbow doesn't look locked but arm is straight, string is at nose and just past corner of mouth, head is level...and you are totally prepared to hammer that trigger!
I know I seem to get front shoulder pain when my draw is too...
I had the same issue with my 400s and this lacing pattern worked for me. I don't have the issue with my hardscrabbles or UI mountain extremes, ikely because the extra insulation compresses my foot a little. BTW, this isn't my boot, I found it on google.
Black Eagle rampages aren't super durable, but they are lighter than comparable shafts which I really like, can't have your cake and eat it too. But it isn't like they break easily or are dangerous, but if you hit them with another arrow they crack easier than Axis shafts. And as for your...
