Post up pics of your pups

Sadie, my Llewellin (English) Setter. 22 months. Here she is at the vet, with her eyes set on the birds outside the window. LOL. Got her at a time where I haven't been able to train her properly. She's scare of loud noises - since I got her as a pup and I don't know how to introduce her to...

Do you shoot factory or load your own ammo?

That is awesome! I went to a small Christian high school. The only shop class the school at the time was woodworking and I was glad we had that. I do wish I had had more shop class exposure like those at public school had, complete with working on cars and welding, etc. Didn't expect reloading...

New CZ Over/Unders very stiff and difficult to open (almost impossible to close!)

We had our annual Oyster Roast & 10-Gun Raffle last night at our small, Christian school in eastern NC. It's a great event with all-you-can-eat wood-fired oysters along with shrimp, chicken, ice tea, desserts, drinks, etc. We always put up five shotguns and five rifles with a $100 ticket...

Any one use a Subaru as a hunting buggy

    Aren't most Subaru engines non-interference?

    New to spotters/digiscoping.

Limited experience with spotting scope but I recently bought an angled one. I'm struggling to find what I'm looking for with it! I can't believe it. I thought angled was the way to go.

Trying to get started digiscoping with Samsung Galaxy

I don't know if this solves your problem but I read on this thread about some third-party apps that allow you to select which lens gets used in the camera and prevents the camera from switching lenses as you zoom in or out. https://www.rokslide.com/forums/threads/digiscoping-apps.274964/

    Pixel 4 phone skope problem

I don't KNOW the solution but this thread talks about some third-party apps that allow you to select which lens gets used and prevent your phone from switching lenses. https://www.rokslide.com/forums/threads/digiscoping-apps.274964/

"Flare" (?) Problems digiscoping w/ Google Pixel 6 Pro

I have a Google Pixel 6 Pro in an Otterbox Defender case. It has two camera lenses, 1-4x and then a digital telephoto that it switches to at 4x. This is problematic for digiscoping as I'd have to move the phone in relation to the ocular lens of the scope if I zoom in or out but that's not the...

What do you carry in that backpack??

I'm not too far from my truck in the gameland I hunt, maybe 6/10ths of a mile. (It's a small game land and my spot has been successful, so...) I don't carry enough to pack out the deer but enough to gut and drag. I'm in eastern NC. It's usually not too cold - certainly not what many of you deal...

Going backwards? DSLR to Super Zoom

I'm going through my inventory and seeing how much I can get for it on ebay as we speak. I'll have to look you up when I'm ready to buy. ;)

Going backwards? DSLR to Super Zoom

Holy crap. I just read up on the camera in question and little bit, including Ken Rockwell's review (@Camera Land - if there is a warning you need me to heed about Ken Rockwell, I'm all ears.): https://www.kenrockwell.com/sony/rx10-iv.htm This could be exactly what I didn't know I should be...

Going backwards? DSLR to Super Zoom

Hi Joel, Normally, I'd say there's something pretty telling in the last statement of yours. But, perhaps, if you've got a good thing (and good product) going, you just keep going? I'm sitting here on an a900 with some quality glass (Sony G 70-200 f2.8, the Sony 85mm f1.4 Zeiss, and some Minotla...

Which lens to take on upcoming hunt?

Wow. Those photos are fantastic. The camera design is reminiscent of my dad's Minolta CLE which he carried for many years - which I believe was a copy of, or made in conjuction with Leica. https://www.kenrockwell.com/leica/cle.htm

    Waterproof Gear totes

I have a few of these in my shed. The big issue for me is they don't shed water. That lid will probably hold a half-gallon if it sits in the rain. You gotta be careful to dump any water out first. For some reason, there are holes in the lid around the perimeter. You can see them in this photo...

    Waterproof Gear totes

I started using (mostly) the smaller size of these (no wheels, about 30inches long?) to store stuff in my shed. My local Academy and Cabelas usually has them for 14.99 on sale, I think. My local Dunhams often has them for $40! but I price match...

    Tikka T3x Lite Polyfade

Oof. Good call. I didn't see that. I wasn't really looking into buying it. However, we are trying to round up rifles and shotguns for a fundraising auction for our school... And thinking that a nice t3x would be a good choice. I was a little suspect given there was only one vendor that I found...

Tru Oil on veneer desktop? removing water stains, etc.

Oof. I bought a large bottle of Tru-Oil a year ago for this project. :) Weird, b/c I have used MinWax stain and polyurethane most of my life for all woodworking projects until I refinished a cheap birch stock on a Stevens SxS. Then I used the rest on that Euro Mount. Why do you think it would...
