I spent a couple nights in the heavier version of their glassing blanket (the 3.6oz I believe), it got down to mid 40s and was
s comfortable.
It got down to the mid 30s on the 3rd night and I woke up and unpacked my WM bag. I was a bit chilly.
Sleeping on an Thermarest Xtherm max, wearing...
This isn't particular to the NX8, but I would have no issues running a quality LPVO on a lightweight hunting gun.
I set up a Ruger American Predator, with an SWFA 1-6 for a a practical rifle class. The below targets were shot prone of a pack to demonstrate the difference between a 100yd and 200...
The cut up g-hook is going to work perfectly. I do wish there were a couple of tighter loops at the top of the frame that would take a bit more slack out of it all with the g-hooks hooked into them but I think it will work well.
Thanks guys!
I'm going to use a couple to attach the Stryker bag to the frame loops, probably at the top loops. I'm using K-clips now but I find them a bit of a pain and I can imagine getting frustrated with cold fingers if I need to set up the load shelf.
The short length of the K-clip or g-hook minimizes...
Does anyone know if a combination of g-hook and k-clip is made anywhere by anyone?
Essentially one half K-clip for a semi-permanemt install on a webbing loop, the other half g-hook for a relatively secure, but quick attach and detach to another loop.
So I finally pulled the trigger on a Stryker after much hemming and hawing between it and the 22 Mag. The 22 Mag not having a bladder sleeve did it in for me. This would replace a Fulcrum for day hunts, with which I've been very happy but I disliked having to deal with straps and having...
Got another range session in with this ammo. Shot a sighter at 500yds then printed this 4 1/8" , 5 shot group. I know it's not fantastic, but I'm pretty tickled with a bonded factory hunting round that shoots sub minute with me behind the gun.
The G7 .258 BC tracked well for me out to 1k today.
I ran a medium belt pouch on the snow collar and now run a large. It works well. I've never ran any pouches on the lower molle as I've used it as a daypack for most of my trips. I haven't used a lid with it and can't really speak to how that would work out. It's already a "strappy" pack when...
I've ran the area 419 hellfire brakes on a couple rifles and they are very effective.
I just recently snagged an Insite Arms Heathen Lite. It's basically an aluminum version of their heathen. It's on my 06 now and works well while saving me almost 1/4 lb over the hellfire. Time will tell how it...
Someone from the gestapo will meet you at the airport or border. They know you are from out of state and will give you tickets to your free train ride to quarentine.
In all seriousness, to my knowledge there is no one who will "follow up". The concern is that someone from out of state will show...
My understanding is that they were having alot of people come into the FWP office to print the tags for them. Which wasn't a problem until the coronavirus shut downs started. At that point FWP decided they were going to mail out all tags, instead of mailing out some of them to people who...
Hi guys,
How are you securing your water bladders in the Gen 2 22 Mag? I'm so close to pulling the trigger on one, but I like having a sleeve I can shove my platypus big zip Evo into.
Also, can you undo the bladder hangar loop at the top and thread it through the bladder handle like on the...
Really Right Stuff recently released a binocular mount. From what I've read people are having good luck keeping it on the binos and them still fitting into chest harnesses. I'm running SLC 15s on a tripod but I'm probably going to end up getting one of these for my geovids...
I don't know how they rate bags for comfort. If the way it is done doesn't take a draft collar into account then that is a huge variable. Whether or not you cinch that guy up makes a huge difference.
Again, I just have the one night close to the 5 deg bag rating in my antelope so I am by no...
I doubt you're going to be disappointed in a WM bag and the GWS would definitely add some piece of mind in really wet climates. I hope it works well for you.
I saw some tests showcasing the water resistance of the MF. There's a sticky on the top where @robby denning tests the MF in rain. They also list head pressure resistance of the material on their website.
I'm pretty sure that anything short of a continuous downpour would be doable in the MF...
I've spent 14 nights so far this spring in my WM Antelope MF here in MT. It got down to 6 degrees one morning according to my truck. I was toasty warm in that bag. Sleeping in a Hilleberg Rogen on a Thermarest Xtherm max wearing Merino wool baselayers and a beenie.
This is the first high end...
