    Early Archery Gambel Oak Elk

Hate that stuff!! I’ve hunted it on occasion with mixed results. Definitely a different dimension. All the terrain types are though. Like was said above, button/strap everything down tight… I’ve got a few arrows laying around out there somewhere in that jungle. I wouldn’t expect a lot of company...

    Tarptent opinions

I’ve got the Moment DW and love it. I’ve had it in warm weather up to 12 degree and light snow. I was surprised at how well it did in the snow. 4-5”It’s definitely not a condo on the inside, but for my backpack hunting, it’s a great shelter. Just enough for what you need and nothing more. Setup...

    Colorado Legal Bull? Part II

Hard pass. Guessing at legality is never a good financial practice.

    Legal bull in Colorado?

totally agree with you. I've bowhunted a few state's that had spread restrictions on whitetails. I mean, am I supposed to measure the spread before I shoot him? Very rarely would you see a mature bull with less than 4 unless he's busted up something terrible. And if he is all busted up, why take...

    Post Covid out west trip?

I missed a season about 10 or 15 years ago and my wife told me never again! She needs a break too. (she stays home). I would never miss a year unless I wasn't financially or physically fit to do so. My dad made it every year even after he couldn't pull his bow. He'd go and sit in camp and just...

    Legal bull in Colorado?

My first look was a No, and that's on my computer under no excitement. In the field I'd personally pass. I think if you have to look twice or try and gauge off nose length, etc. then the ethical thing to do is pass.

    Diaphragm inconsistencies based on retailer

I personally haven’t, I generally use Phelps calls from various retailers. It’s a stupid COVID side effect?? I mean the quality of everything else sucks right now. Short handed on people = inexperienced labor.

    I-70 Closed Glenwood Canyon

Was through there in late June and it was closed for a bit. Watershed definitely screwed there for awhile.

    Gunnison guys

Thanks to the ones that have sent me PMs. Nice to get some answers from guys that have been there. Hope I can return the favor someday.

COVID got em, I’m sure of it.

    Gunnison guys

I have a specific question on a unit in the Gunnison area. I’m not a fan of putting unit numbers out there on the net. I’ve contacted the Forestry Service but they couldn’t answer my questions. Only a bow hunter/muzzle loader hunter could. Don’t worry, it’s not a how many elk are in this spot...

    Bow for my son

That’s why I’ve been hesitant on buying him a bow, but I want him to be comfortable and enjoy what he’s doing.

    Bow for my son

Wanting some opinions. My 13 year old son is finally showing some real interest in shooting a bow. Tried to start him years ago but he wasn’t in to it. I have a an older Mission that I’ve tried to set up for him, but I’m not very happy with the results. (I’m not great at the technical stuff) I...

    Let The Workouts Begin!!!

Well I’m happy to find out today that I can pull my bow. 2 shoulder surgeries since January and have been stressed out about not being able to hunt. I was going regardless, but knowing I can hunt instead of just calling/packing is a great feeling. I had to turn it down to 60 but I’m able to pull...

    Trekking pole recommendation

I can’t speak on the carbon Black Diamonds, but I’ve run the aluminum ones for several years without problems. I’m 6’1” 225 and carry significant weight with them. Wouldn’t leave a trail without them.

CedarRidge Outdoors. Small company, excellent CS. You will have to wait a few months more than likely but very well made products.

    Backpacking tent floor denier? Footprint?

I’m using the tyvek no matter what. Doesn’t weigh much and I hate a leaky air pad.
