It is light enough to shoot here May and June, nearly all night especially if the sky is clear. If it is cloudy, it might be marginal from 12:45 AM till 2:45 AM. Strap yourself in safely, and sleep in your tree stand all night.
I look out the cabin window towards the outhouse, to see how many bears are in the yard, and what type of bear. Then decide which firearm to take. Exiting the cabin check all the bears in the yard. POOP, and then exiting the outhouse, check for bears that have moved between outhouse and cabin...
Tuesdays Court Ruling......
the federal court of appeals for Alaska and several other states — upheld that original decision. Judge Ronald Gould agreed that the federal government has power over Alaska’s public lands, even if ANILCA gives the state responsibility for its wildlife. And when...
Hunters should be prepared for a likely future, where-in The Federal Subsistence, is the least of your problems. Yesterdays court ruling, I suspect will slowly become the foundation for "ALL" Federal Lands throughout 50 States. It will take a few years......but the "Writing is on the Wall"...
This will likely make it harder for those "Baiting" Brown Bears. So much moose meat laying around as the snow recedes.

I look out my cabin window at country that few humans have set foot, and most of that was over "Hundred" years ago. It is game rich country, but very near impossible to access. Not classified as "Wilderness", just a small (relatively speaking) part of a Seven Million acre National Forest.
