    This is unbelievable, but while removing five feet of snow to access the doors to some connexs (shipping containers) I discovered (3") Three inches of ice at the bottom. That would be very bad for Sheep, Caribou, Goats. And confirmed the 3" of ice on different part of the property.

    I snowshoe six days a week for six months. Only way to get off the mountain and down to mailbox and the re-supply drop box. Snowshoeing is much safer than X-country skiing, as far as getting hurt. And snowshoeing is more work and will therefore burn more calories.

    I look out my cabin window at country that few humans have set foot, and most of that was over "Hundred" years ago. It is game rich country, but very near impossible to access. Not classified as "Wilderness", just a small (relatively speaking) part of a Seven Million acre National Forest.
