The Silex has a much smaller footprint which is very helpful when your trying to find a flat spot along some mountain side where real estate is a premium. Many a time I wished for a smaller tent then my Silvertip when I was tired and worn out to find out I had to...
Selling my SeekOutside DST. Comes with the original stuff sack. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. I washed it with Oxyclean but could possibly use another scrubbing.
$110 shipped. PayPal or FF. CONUS only.
I have 2 side zip ultra light Borah bivys for sale. Both are long/wide made out of Argon 90. One has head and foot loops for staking out but has a hole in net and body. Easily patched but I haven’t done it yet. The other is in perfect shape but doesn’t have the loops on the head end.
$85 each...
Shoot John an email describing what you want. He charged me an extra $10 for a couple custom alterations and I'm very happy with the end product. It's actually my 3rd Borah bivy.
I run a Silvertip for solo hunting in the fall, a DST for summertime long distance hikes and just recently picked up a Cimmaron Light for family and winter hot tenting. For a one and done I’d go Cim Light. It only weighs like 6oz more than the Silvertip.
My newly graduated daughter wants to hit some of the Colorado Trail so we are headed that way on July 1st to start in Waterton and go to Breckinridge. If it was later we would do Silverton to Durango which is the more scenic last 80 miles. Park in Durango and take the train north were they will...
I just ordered another Borah from John last week. I had him do a couple custom alterations to it. He was very responsive to email and very reasonable on the final price. I use mine under a tarp as well and always have either a painters tarp or polycro under me for ground moisture control. I did...
Best pic I've seen in a awhile on here. To often you see folks "gearing up" for these hunts and your little girl takes it on in pink sweats and purple beanie.
Awesome!
And the #1 thing needed on a backcountry hunt?????
The right frame of mind. Forget about all the this and that's. Go into it without the right expectations and skill to take care of yourself in the woods and all that "stuff" will just be another gear pile in your man cave. Some of the greatest...
The Duo is a basically the same size as a SO Silvertip without the two and a half feet on each long side (towards the door) that you can stuff gear into or cook. Very doable for two if you like each other.
