i had a double pin for a couple years. i definatly liked it. my gaps were 20/35 about and the top of the bubble was 50ish i think. i found it hard to precisely use the second pin. it was good enough to hit a deer will but just loss some accuracy there i felt. i also didnt like the gap being that...
If you buy used you can probably sell it for close to what you paid and upgrade a year or more later. Thats what i did. Scooped a razor off ebay for $800, used it two years and took good care of it then sold for $750 to fund better optics.
For what its worth i now have the kowa 774 and had a gen 1 razor 85. The kowa is quite a bit better. The razor wasnt bad for $800 but the kowa beats it in every aspect in my opinion espeacially color and usability at 60x.
last year i did a WTB for a gun. every response i got was fishy. some did the steal a post from years ago others communicated weirdly. i decided to ditch that idea and only buy from a store and wont do a WTB add ever again. id be skeptical on everyone unless they have a history of being an...
If you hate big cities port washington area might be worth a look(a little north of milwaukee). quite a few bars/resturaunts right by the harbor to go to before and after.
I just grabbed a kowa 774 that would get my vote. Searching romslide you cant find a bad thing about them in that suze and they regularly are compared to the swaro S series and are equa or better in most peoples opinions. Its a good buy in my opinion
I just got a kowa 774(straight) its commonly said to be equal or better then the ats 65 from reading forumns. It can also be found for 1700-1800 as well.
I had it side by side woth a maven cs1. Its quite a bit better in color, clarity, extra zoom, and its not near as bulky as youd expect a 77mm...
I have 2 pairs of summits and had one pair of colorados. The colorados were a half size to small but i thought the extra stiffness was noticable, espeacially waking on flatter ground cause ot was a lottle weird feeling. Loved my summits for everything
edited cause my numbers were all messed up.
With my maven b2’s i use to have in 11x 2 miles i could see elk pretty well in the open feeding. With my 18x i saw them at 4+ miles feeding. Thats from a tripod and they were in more open sage. So they stick out good id guess you would see them a bit...
looking through high end glass is the worst thing to do if you are trying to save money for non hunting things. it got me then it got my dad after he looked through my mavens i use to have. and then suddenly those $150 scopes and binos are so unclear you cant hardly see through them anymore
Thats exactly what my dad did for me to got a .22 and a .243 and a 20ga and he used his same old stuff
Way better then my vortex razor i previously had. I dont see wanting to upgrade but if i do it would be for the 884 maybe but its pretty sweet.
Anything over $100 i try to sell if i have another thing id like to upgrade. Mostly optics but it helps keep the woman off your back when new shot shows up and you can say you covered the cost by selling these other big items. Cheap stuff collects though cause its not worth the effort.
But like...
If you want to put a bunch of shit in it the alaskan guide creations is pretty nice. i also have a marsupial as of recent, thats definatly a little more minimalist you could maybe say. Its got room for a few necesities but far less storage then AGC. Noth seem to be built well, i havent broke a...
Getting an inreach might help your parents being more ok woth you being solo. That worked for me the forst solo trip i did for my parents and girlfriend.
Also if your able to scout and put effort forward im sire theres another rokslider in your boat you can team up with maybe. You see those post...
i highly recomend practicing packing it up. Make sure to review other peoples gear lists. And hike around with it youll fine tune it in a hurry. Be mindful of where you put layers you may need to grab fast like a puffy or rain jacket. Theres some real crafty dudes on here that know there stuff...
Very true above ive definatly watched dudes pounding through dark timber where ive seen elk go to a day or two before the season. Let your optics do your leg work
I went 5 days early for a mule deer hunt last year, just be careful not to burn your self out would be my only suggestion. By the second day the season was open i was getting pretty run down being day 7 out there in the high country.
I think its a good idea id just maybe plan a rest day in...
I have the 12x nls and just scooped up a 774. Havent gotten to
Thouroughly look at it but i will
Say the color, clarity and brightness stood out to me at 60x even. Definatly a big stup
Up from my old vortex razor. And it doesnt feel to bulky. I think itll be a great pair
Like above ots expected to have this happen in the first 100 shots, but once that string settles it might not have to be touched for a year or two. Yeah two shots was exagerating probably but once you hit 100 shots you should be good to go for a long time. You dont know what you dont know, now...
