Probably when I got to watch my dad take his first deer with a bow, it wasn't the biggest buck in the world, but it sure was great to see him get it done after 54 years.
Check out Core4element's new Down jacket, weighs in at 13oz. and is made of Downtek treated down, and for those of you that don't like down they make in a primaloft version also that is 16oz. check out the link at this amazing new coat.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzMBeIjgs4A
realunlucky, most people around here that have drawn a tag have just put baits up, and they generally get hit by multiple bears. I will probably just put my bait in some logs. A lot of the guys have just been using doughnuts to get them coming in(for some reason they won't eat the frosted ones)...
Where I am putting in for my tag you would be wasting your time to even go out and look right now, the bears are not out and the snow is way to deep to find any green spots. Hopefully the snow will even be melting by the middle of the season. I have been putting in for 7 years and hope I will...
You could also look at Core4element Torrent rain gear, I have been pleased with the quality, and the price isn't that bad either for quality rain gear.

I always followed in my dads footsteps, I lost him in 2002. My boy has been one of my favorite hunting partners, always wanting to go one more ridge to see what is on the other side. Now he has his own tags and I get to follow him.
Killed this buck after my dad pushed him to me! I lost him to a heart attack in 2002 while setting up treestands a week before the hunt. I sure miss him. Cherish the times that you get to spend with your fathers out in Gods great outdoors, because you never know when it will be taken away from you.
The Element jacket is a great soft shell jacket, I wore mine on a November Mule deer hunt with the temps in the 20's and snowing most of the time. As long as I was moving I would stay warm with just a merino top and the Element jacket, If I stopped to glass I would have to put on a vest. The DWR...
I do the same as HellsCanyon, fill a large bladder with water and hike uphill, empty the water out for the journey back downhill takes a lot of the strain off of your knees.
Core4Element makes the Switchback pant that you can roll up and has a button to hold them up for creek crossings or to make into a pair of shorts when it is hot. Just another option.
First bull I killed was about a mile off the road. We had a 200 yd flat and then it was all downhill( very steep) we figured if we could drag him whole to the edge it would be a piece of cake the rest of the way downhill. Took him about a 100 ft and said this is not working and cut him in half...
Core4Element has served me well last season, and is fairly affordable compared to some of the other companies, just something you may want to check out.
