An older ktm 200xc or xcw would be deadly. Two of my buddies have borrowed my 04 300exc when their four stroke race bikes went down, they both sold their fancy four strokes and bought 09 and 14 300xcw's. They will go anywhere with the right tires. If you are going to be climbing quite a bit...
I had a rifle built two seasons ago with a DBM, should have left it with the floor plate. It rattles and makes noise. It's just another thing sticking out to catch on brush
You certainly have to pick your battles and I believe hunting is a battle that is worth picking in certain instances. There are other US based manufacturers out there, correct?
I live in Canada, I'll take anything 2a related they'll allow across the border.
I'd bet there's at least a handful of things in everyone's pack, trucks, houses, yadayada that is made by a company who has differing views on many topics than the user, if you dig deep enough. I know this one is pretty blatantly out with his views.
I put a 7mm rem mag into a cow moose in October 2020, I think it was a 140gr trophy copper, she took one step and tipped over dead, 130yards. 2 inch exit hole.
A molle panel that mounts to the hip belt would be pretty slick, I. Know its a pain the attach/remove the accessories but then you know it's probably not coming off when you're not looking.
Every thought of doing a nalgene holster that attached to the hip belt where it comes out of the frame? Trying to figure a way of making it removable/attach to that big strip of Velcro on the kuiu belts.
The boss lady is right ticked I want to sell my kuiu setup for one of these bad boys. The molle hip belt/shoulder straps is a great touch, something the kuiu is definitely missing.
OP what did you end up doing? I built a 7 wsm on a rem 700 long action for the same reason. Put a couple dummys together and gave them to the gunsmith. Told him I wanted 0.015 off the lands and that's how he built it.
There is also the factor of age. I believe it was a vortex podcast I was listening to and one of the optical engineers touched on the topic of how as we age, one's pupil will not dilate to its fullest potential that it once could. IIRC 7mm is the largest your pupil can dilate and that was around...
New here, but, I feel like an 8x56 would be a bit over kill, unless you're looking to squeeze that last minute of light out of the day but I don't think you'd be to far ahead of your 8x42 to warrant the extra weight or cost?
