I went ahead and ordered a Nosler Custom in .338 Win Mag.
I'm really looking forward to it and I'm in hopes it shoots up to my standards. Thank you Hodgeman for your feedback.
I'm on a phone, only Internet connection, and the search feature leaves a lot to be desired.
It may be easier on a laptop but I don't have access to one at the moment. I've tried to search and even asked but nobody has seen fit to reply.
Is there some reason that Shrek doesn't like Kuiu?
I've used OR and will try a pair from Cabela's later this year.
Of the two you mention I can only tell you that OR is the standard others are measured by. I got the Cabela gaiters as a gift.
From the sounds of things, and reading between the lines here about your not being prepared for winter conditions, I'd advise you to pull out.
Having been a backcountry rescue due to a cardiac condition I can tell you that waiting for rescue and the subsequent host in to the helicopter is no fun.
Tried to do a search, to no avail, and send you a PM.
I'm on a phone as it's my only Internet connection at the moment. Anybody care to give me the Cliff Note version?
I'm curious as to why a flatlands dweller bashes Kuiu?
Is there something wrong with their products that I'm unaware of? Did he have a piece of their gear fail on him at a critical moment?
I used a Kuiu Icon pack this season and was happy with it. It beat my Eberlestock by a huge margin and I...
Juice,
Since the Barnes load is shooting MOA I think I'd try seating the bullet deeper to see if that improves accuracy.
Barnes, IIRC, recommends a bullet jump of 0.050" to start. My .338 Win Mag likes a 0.070" jump.
Just some food for thought.
I used an Icon 5200 pack this past deer season, loved it.
Well thought out design and seems durable. Will use it next year on a moose hunt.
I intend to wear the thing out over time but I don't look too replacing it anytime soon.
