You need any freezer space I may be able to help you out. I live about 15 mins from Anchorage. I'll be up in the Brooks till the 21st, so kinda depends if I'm back yet or not. I've got a hose and plenty of room to spread all your gear out too if you want to clean it up a bit after the hunt.
John Dies at the End and the sequel This Book is Full of Spiders.....those two got me from Arizona to Alabama then Alabama to Minnesota....I only listen to audiobooks when driving.
Depending on your corneal thickness you can get LASIK again....at least PRK I know you can. Like you my first round only lasted 5 years. Been good for two years now since the latest surgery.
Something about a hot meal and hot coffee in the morning. I think I'd wear Flip flops to hunt before I give up my coffee. Curious to hear how this works out for if you go for it.
Yup, it's the only headlamp I use on my sheep hunts. I haven't had any issues with it, also has obscene battery life so I don't carry extras. Two thumbs up from me.
Yeah I will be buying a 0 degree down soon. But that will probably never go with me on an AK august hunt. Dridown is too pricey for me unless I can snag a good deal on a used one or Prodeal.
I use the Kuiu merino and the Sitka with wind stopper....forget the model name but it is super warm, covers your ears completely. Only issue is the wind stopper stuff hinders your hearing so I'll flip the ears up when stalking.
Bitz, right helical, and I play with the degree to get as much as I can and still get them to stick....a little tricky to figure it out. I was shooting 2" blazers but switched to the Vanetec HPs...little lower profile and they stick MUCH better for me. I love the 4 vane setup. I shoot red and...
Too many options out there. Wondering if anyone has done the math or can recommend a SYNTHETIC ONLY sleeping bag that exceeds AKA weighs less than my current bag. I've been using a Kelty light year 20degree for the past 5 sheep seasons....weighs in at 2.88lbs/46oz. Really looking for a full...
Cargo panel looks better if you take the bag off and are using the frame as a meat hauler. I don't see any benefit to adding tha much weight when you already have a bag attached to the frame.
For what it's worth slick tricks and shuttle t shoot the same for me, both awesome. However the tricks so seem to whistle as they fly, something I don't hear with the shuttle t's. I know there are all kinds of debates whether that is true or if it affects anything. At least in my book it's...
I feel your pain man. The only mountaineering boot I've gotten to fit on both feet was a half size too small pair of Lowas. Crushed my toes downhill but never got a blister in them. I think I have a low volume foot, long and narrow so the tongue tends not to snug up my ankle enough. They...
Bringing this thread back to life as I'm back in AK finally. Hit up AMH and REI. Found the degres at AMH, but wasn't 100% sold on fit. Two questions on plastics have resulted from today's journey.
1. Anyone been to Barney's lately and know if they carry scarpa omegas or the Invernos...
Grab it, and on my DT1 I bought a small pick of webbing, 1/2" I think and put buckles on both ends. Attached that through the loops on my standard lid. Kept it very secure when used with the grab it. However it did almost rip my loops off the standard lid, had to send it in to kifaru to get...
