    Where to stay in Anchorage?

    You need any freezer space I may be able to help you out. I live about 15 mins from Anchorage. I'll be up in the Brooks till the 21st, so kinda depends if I'm back yet or not. I've got a hose and plenty of room to spread all your gear out too if you want to clean it up a bit after the hunt.

    Depending on your corneal thickness you can get LASIK again....at least PRK I know you can. Like you my first round only lasted 5 years. Been good for two years now since the latest surgery.

    Something about a hot meal and hot coffee in the morning. I think I'd wear Flip flops to hunt before I give up my coffee. Curious to hear how this works out for if you go for it.

    Petzl E-Lite?

    Yup, it's the only headlamp I use on my sheep hunts. I haven't had any issues with it, also has obscene battery life so I don't carry extras. Two thumbs up from me.

    Yeah I will be buying a 0 degree down soon. But that will probably never go with me on an AK august hunt. Dridown is too pricey for me unless I can snag a good deal on a used one or Prodeal.

    What Beany are you using

    I use the Kuiu merino and the Sitka with wind stopper....forget the model name but it is super warm, covers your ears completely. Only issue is the wind stopper stuff hinders your hearing so I'll flip the ears up when stalking.

    Kifaru Grab-It or Cargo Panel on a Duplex Timberline 1

    Cargo panel looks better if you take the bag off and are using the frame as a meat hauler. I don't see any benefit to adding tha much weight when you already have a bag attached to the frame.
