Yeah, I agree, there is no way she saw you if you were still, but she smelled you and that is why she was staring. If you would have made noise or she saw you, she would have likely stomped the ground trying to get you to move again or something. An alert doe will just stare, and that is...
My advice is always more time and experience in the field if you have the opportunity, but if you have one day and want to shoot, shoot a doe. They eat just fine and will not give the multitude of things that can happen for a first time bow hunter shooting a buck as a first kill with bow.
I...
I bet you hit backstrap and the bull is not dead. Based on the longer spinous processes near the shoulder, a high shoulder shot that did what you describe is most likely on the backstrap.
Awesome bull man! Great job.
Was the picture of the gun set up before or after the shot? I am not sure i could have taken that pic after, would be way too blurry from the total body shakes i would have gotten.
For sure play the wind. Do not go in there if the wind isnt right. Be patient with that.
I would either do like was mentioend and get there plenty early or go in very early afternoon and wait till evening. The camera will show when they are hitting area more than others.
Either way, plan...
I wonder if this is in the brick and mortar stores yet. Have never been to the one in dallas despite living within 45 minutes. Would like to see this set in person.
Maybe it wilp be a next year purchase when there is more info out there about it…and the prices for used sets come around 😂
the advertised outer fleece will probably be pretty burr collecting just like the fanatic.
Would love to see this sst in person, but gonna be a hard sell for me given the fanatic works so well for my needs.
Would be different if it was water resistant/proof. I know that is tough to keep...
I don't have all the pieces you are looking into, but if the strongfleece 270 is anything like the 260 version, it is a non-bulky heavy piece that will need very little over it save for weather or real cold. With a base and the strongfleece 260 I am comfortable static hunting into the low 50's...
My wife picked me up several of these pair a while back. I will say I have worn them for a lot of things from busting brush, outdoor work, even travelling on airlines...always comfortable and have held up really well with just some minor picks from thorns and thick brambles.
I do not use...
Only one i have shot was with 200gr hornady eldx loaded to get 3000fps out of my .300wsm
First shot was a frontal inbetween the neck and front quartering shoulder, he turned broadside and i put one more in his chest and he dropped.
The first bullet was found very near the opposite...
Big fan of Nemo gear. Been pleased but i dont have any of the specific tents offered.
When i was researching between the copper spur and the losi 3p i ultimately got, i read a lot of reports of the copper spur being a little on the flimsy side in wind and light on the material side. Most...
^^^ i do not disagree with anything you said. I should have said the rain jacket can be used moreso when static/glassing. I would not want to use it for busting brush or anything that could damage it, ruin its purpose. If moving, is a wind shirt vital ? Up to the person using it and how cold...
Yeah the ambient will wet out pretty quickly, it does have some minor water repellency but not much.
The rain jacket can also serve as a wind jacket if you want, so think of ways to cross off two with one item. Not saying a rain jacket should be used for busting brush or anything, so just be...
What type of hunting are you looking to do? This makes a decent impact on the advice to be given, let me explain:
Whitetail deer hunting is broken down into bow or rifle, mainly box blind or treestand, wet area or more dry area….
Western hunting more spot and stalk, bow or rifle,
I consider...
