I don’t think money plays heavily into people hunting or not. I see people with the best, most expensive gear, and guys with their granddads rifle wearing jeans. Both kill stuff. Nowadays the real currency that matters is willingness to put in effort and spare time Both are in short supply for...
I primarily make Italian, and other fresh sausage where I like a meat texture versus hotdogs and have a pretty decent process.
Day before making sausage I cut all the meat up into smaller grinder sized chunks. I have a food processing tub where all the meat goes into. Season the meat in the...
I live in Ca, so know a thing or two about horrible gov’t and slippery slope precedents. I’ve never hunted in Co and actually don’t have any immediate plans to. I still sent them some money to fight this. These types of proposed bans need to be met with strong resistance where ever and...
Because it will be another step towards hunting and hunters being a thing of the past. If it can happen in Colorado it can happen in your state. Tag allocation is a tiny issue, and becomes meaningless if hunting is made illegal. When this stuff passes, it emboldens these anti groups and gives...
I respectfully disagree. Differences of opinion between the resident and non-resident hunters should not take away from the greater good of preserving hunting. If these anti groups win then it won’t make a difference where you live. It will negatively impact your way of life.
The Hornady book is worth owning. You get some of the basics of reloading plus a huge amount of published load data. For how to, look at CREDIBLE sources on YouTube. Not billybobs basement channel. But it is useful to see the process.
I think some hearts are going to get broken when a first time guy drops $2k on a tag, then shows up and sees what some of these spots look like during hunting season.
Warne mountain tech are offered in 1”. I have the 30mm on a couple rifles and they have been reliable. Made of aluminum, not steel, but that is not a legitimate concern. They are good.
Is it public knowledge where the demand is regionally for general tags? In other words, where past NR have used their gen tag in relation to these new regional quotas? That would give a guy at least some very rough idea of draw odds going into 24’.
Same. Have not had good luck smoking it. I do a lot of braising. If you don’t want a traditional braised meat texture you can pull it then broil for a few minutes to get it crispy. If I was going to smoke it, I’d smoke it for several hours then transfer into a deep dish with some apple...
Ok. That’s what I thought you meant to say. Doesn’t bother me at all. I’ve even shot one off a dead cow once. It was a healthy young boar and the meat was excellent.
To the guys who have a problem with wild pigs because they will occasionally eat dead animals. Do you have the same issue with eating bear since they do the exact same thing?
I’m not against standards, but everyone has their own, and I think that if someone is within the law it’s not my place to judge them. I do find it hard to believe that non residents alone are responsible for killing smaller bucks. By design, only a small minority of tags go to non residents...
