Got a question for you all if you could help.
I have been getting equiptment to start reloading rifles for a bit now.
I almost have everything I need to get started.

My question is on Powder.
I would like to keep it simple if possible to start with.
I have a few rifles that I want to reload for.
What I would prefer is to have multiple powders that I can use for all of these calibers.
I dont know how possible that is but I am hoping it will simplify things for me.

The calibers I want to load for.

243 Win
7mm-08
300 WSM
270 Win
6.5 CM
6.5 PRC

From doing some reading I see a lot really like H4350 for the 6.5 CM and 6.5 PRC but also some say it works well in the 300 WSM also.
That is what I would prefer to do is have say 3-4 different powders that would cover these calibers.
How possible is that.
And what would you all suggest in powders to get for these calibers?

H4831 is versatile and I have used it for 243, 270, 30-06, 7mm, 300WM. I would think the 7mm-08 would like it and probably the 300WSM as well.

I shoot H4350 in my 6.5CM. It would cover several of your other calibers… 7mm-08, 243 and potentially the 270.

I have 0 experience with the PRC and very little with the 300WSM. Our 300 Win Mags are all H1000 though.

H4350 would probably work for the first 5 of those.

6.5 PRC if you’re shooting the long/heavies, you will want something closer to h1000 burn rate.

It really depends on if you’re trying to “maximize” each of those and what bullet weight you intend to use. But you cannot go wrong with having an 8lb jug of h4350 on the shelf with your cartridge list.

you're not going to find one powder that is optimal in all of those for all bullet weights, but if you check the load data for each, my guess is that you're going to see H4350, H4831, RL26, RL16 listed for every single one.

hodgdon's reloading website will give you the actual answer.

Varget, H4350, H4831, H1000

Could probably get by fine with just the middle two, depending on bullet choices.
