    Sierra 6.5 mm145 gr TGK

I prefer Sierra over the options you mention even though those will work. They should be a bit tougher so hopefully not as destructive at closer ranges from what I've seen on the 260/6.5 Creedmoor thread. They still should do well farther than I'll ever shoot. I's also nice to have options.

    300 WSM Future

I should also mention Sierra and Hornady have some good bullets too that won't break the bank. Speer still is likely a bit better when it comes to price.

    300 WSM Future

Once you have brass your cost goes down. Haven't done the numbers in a while but you can save some money. Even if you don't once you have a load your gun likes you aren't at the mercy of the ammo manufacturer's to produce ammo. Speer has good bullets that aren't super expensive. 7000 gr in a...

    Sierra 6.5 mm145 gr TGK

In your big 26 you should be able to get 3200-3300 fps with that bullet. That's got to shoot incredibly flat. In my wife's 6.5x55 and my 260 (both LH Tikkas) should be able to get 2700 fps at least.

    Sierra 6.5 mm145 gr TGK

https://www.sierrabullets.com/product/264-cal-6-5mm-145-gr-tgk/ Looking forward to trying these in our 260 and 6.5x55. Says it's designed for the 6.5 PRC but should do fine at lower speeds. Based on how easy it was to get the 175 gr TGK to shoot out of my 6.8 Western I'm excited to try these...

Is the 6.8 western gaining traction or did the 7mm prc finish it off?

Honest question here, do you work for Hornady? Not sure why you get so up in arms with guys liking the 6,8 Western. Have you tried the round yourself? Hornady has been asked to produce a 170+/- 277 bullet many times but won't, I think it's due to their ego that they won't. Berger, Sierra and...

Is the 6.8 western gaining traction or did the 7mm prc finish it off?

Sure, that's why they make them all, we all can pick the one we like.

Is the 6.8 western gaining traction or did the 7mm prc finish it off?

I'm not sure what anyone else said about the 7 PRC but I'm not against it and actually considered it. The 6.8 Western fits what I want to do, excellent performance without a lot of recoil. The 7 PRC is a step above since it has more case capacity, the 6.8 Western is more like a 277 version of a...

Is the 6.8 western gaining traction or did the 7mm prc finish it off?

Thought this was good and should be an interesting series on 4 popular 7mm cartridges. The 7 PRC is a good one and will do well I think but at the same time Hornady lied about how much speed it gets.,

Is the 6.8 western gaining traction or did the 7mm prc finish it off?

6.5 SAUM is not very popular the 6.5 PRC is and filled that slot and will eventually finish it off. The SAUM will live on with handloaders though. In general on this thread I'm not sure why there is hate for a good round in the 6.8 Western. I chose it over the 7 PRC since I like the 277 bore...

7 PRC for costal brown bears?

Your 7 PRC will do fine on killing a bear and I wouldn't hesitate to hunt them with them. There is a big difference though between hunting them and having to stop one that want's to even the score with you. I'm in BC and have hunted the coastal bears here before they closed the season and with...

My mountain rifle is getting walnut…

Yikes a steel butt pad wouldn't be fun, a recoil pad would be a must lol. Since you also have 375's the 7x57 would be cool.

7x57 or go with a lightweight 9.3x62 bear stopper for camping and hiking.

    My Caribou story...

Thanks for sharing, some amazing mounts you have there. All your caribou (and other animals you took) are beautiful, I'm always amazed how big the mountain caribou are every time I see them. Need to get another one soon. Hope you can add the woodland caribou from Newfoundland some day.

Lots of good info, thanks. This really helps a lot, 3-9 Credo or Huron for me.

Once again a “Influencer” is caught poaching on several hunts (Alpinecarnivore)

@stephane110 mentioned earlier in the thread they also got a $25,000 fine in Alberta so that helps. Should have been a longer suspension though and having a bigger fine would have been good too.

Me too, they are on YouTube though. It's amazing what they can find to convict someone.

I won't comment on some of the things mentioned in the post you quoted but only bring up to make a point. Wild TV completely cut ties with AC when the news came out while MF, Bowmar sponsors never have to my knowledge which speaks volumes in both cases as to what their priorities are.
