    I want a 6.8 Western…but…

The fast twist 270 Win is awesome too. Only about 150 fps less than the 6.8 Western. I still have a bunch of 270 Win components and plan on another one. My last one was a 1 in 9 twist but the gun had other issues. An 8 or 8.5 at slowest would be better.

    I want a 6.8 Western…but…

Since I'm a lefty I had a Tikka T3x re barreled to 6.8 Western and I really love it. Mild recoil for the level of performance you get. I still have the 300 WSM barrel so could do a switch barrel rig. If you are a hand loader once you have brass you're good to go. Have some great loads with the...

7mm Rem Mag vs the new age

Watched that last night. Glad Hornady is finally being called out for their lies. I think Jim does a good job explaining why they aren't telling the truth about the 6.5 and 7 PRC cartridges and the speed people are actually getting.

Forgot to ask where did you get him? Need some more details on your hunt! That's a great bear.

    260 rem or 260 AI or a 7mm-08?

I feel the same way been happy with the 260 since 1997 and see no need to change. My Tikka has an 8 twist and the M+ magazine. Seems since you have a good 260 adding a 260 AI or 7mm-08 would be the choice that makes the most sense.

    260 rem or 260 AI or a 7mm-08?

All three are good. I'm a fan of the 260 Rem and own one but the AI version is intriguing. You could make yourself an accurate fire forming load for practice and a full power load once you have your AI brass formed.

What has actually quit on you in the field?

Leica rangefinder, it was an expensive piece of garbage. An odd one I had was when I was bear hunting and had chambered a round. Pulled the bolt back and all of a sudden had powder everywhere. Somehow the bullet got lodged in the bore and I had to tap it out with a cleaning rod at home. I...

    Any Sauer rifle users here?

Man I wish they made the 100 series in a lefty. Would grab a 8x57 or maybe a 270 Win. We have a LH Tikka 6.5x55 but those Sauer guns would be sweet.

25 Caliber Cartridge with cartridge head stamped brass?

Just have your barrel temporary marked for the headstamped brass when you go. I doubt they will measure it. If the barrel and brass say 6.5 SAUM they won't know the difference.

    Tikka vs Springfield vs Seekings

The 300 WSM is nice in a Tikka because you can easily load out bullets longer with a different bolt stop and a different magazine if you get into reloading. For factory ammo the standard 2.9" magazine will work well. The 165 gr TTSX load will work well for any reasonable shot you will ever take...

    270win 22 inch barrel, 130 or 150gr

You could just pick the one that shoots best since they are all great options. That said I like the Oryx bullet the best of those.

Long range shooting challenge from Backfire

Hope he uses that Aero precision rifle he brought out at the end. Seems like a really nice gun. I like watching Erik, F Class John and now the Little Crow Gunworks videos. Learn lots about reloading and shooting from guys like these.
