Okay, was able to figure out that I was, in fact, doing something dumb. I didn’t have the straps from the belt to the lumbar support tightened, so the weight of the whole pack was riding on those little velcro straps. Once I tightened the belt straps enough to carry the load, the Velcro stays...
I designed the wings big enough to accommodate some molle webbing. I’m worried about them getting in the way of my pack should straps, but I think this will work. I haven’t decided yet what will go on the wings - I don’t have a rangefinder yet, but a phone pouch and knife sheath are current...
Used this pack (got the frame and belt used) all last year with no issues. Midway through a training session this Velcro strap that secures the waist belt comes loose. I put it back and a few outings later it comes off again. Now it’s coming off as soon as I put the pack on. Training weight is...
Do you have an older model? Is there a difference between what you get when you buy a new pair of binoculars and if you bought a glasspak standalone? I have what came with my crossfires from a couple years ago and it has no Velcro.
I finally ordered all the materials. I’ll have cordura outside with a waterproof liner. Still debating if I want a deployable rain cover - probably a good idea. Hopefully by next week I’ll have materials, which gives me a week to draw out a detailed pattern.
So true! The number of different materials to get all the features I want exploded quickly. But I’ll have enough fabric to make several bags, so if the first one doesn’t work I can try again at no additional cost.
I have almost everything I need in my shopping carts from Ripstopbytheroll, but they are out of stock on the pocket mesh. I got to wait just a couple of days - I really don’t want to pay shipping twice.
Finally sat down to sketch out pattern ideas, and quickly realized that trying to do the body as one piece would make it very hard to hide seams and add all the pockets in a way that doesn’t look shoddy. So my plan for construction is to make the individual panels and wings separately and then...
The modularity is tempting, but I also have to keep this simple enough that I can make it myself. Maybe just using simple clips… I’ll think if I can do it in a simple way without using the specialty hardware…
I’d like to build a Bino harness. I got new glass during a fathers’ day sale, and they don’t fit in my old vortex glass pak. I like the two side stretchy pockets, and the small pocket on the back for things like tags. If anything I want the side pockets a little larger.
For material I was...
Hi everybody! I have been googling around and am still coming up empty. I am trying to find a landowner adjacent to my hunt unit to ask for access (it would save me miles of hiking if I can arrange it). New Mexico seems to have more privacy laws than other states because I can’t seem to find a...
