on the subject of this thread, I absolutely agree with you that the hunting regs are screwy and I feel that way about all western states. I believe no state should put such limits on their residents for hunting. you absolutely deserve to hunt at any time for any animal on your lands. there...
just want to clarify that I am not arguing that CO needs NR hunters, I'm only trying to help people understand how the economy works and where hunters fit into this. it appears that many people believe if you are a hunter then you are nothing more than a robot who only comes out for 1 week a...
to look at it another way, if there are 45,000 NR hunters that could potentially be 45,000$ any given business loses every year. what business do you know of can take that hit without consequence?
just in archery, CO will receive 15.2 M for OTC elk licenses. can you cover that? what will have...
while you were there did you take note of the res/non res ratio? and what businesses did you ask to open their books to you to see how it all plays out?
you're just making assumptions based on what you narrowly see without any understanding of the flow of money and ripple effect.
did you ever...
sndmn11, I do not have the time to show you. I cannot teach you that things on a business scale do not work the same as a personal scale. while you may see it as a dollar, that dollar can be all the difference on a larger scale. don't assume that major loss only means closure, it can mean many...
I do not, as you should know that would be very hard to do in a realistic way. using just the #'s from the petition, we would have to figure out how many of those 45,000 NR hunters also come at other times of the year or contribute dollars in other ways.
most sensible people understand that...
every town west of the divide would take a major loss in income if you lost tourism. its reality, if you think it isn't just drive around and ask any store or shop how much they make during hunting season vs off season. this does not just apply to CO but every state in the country. tourism is...
I love watching children fight in the sandbox.
you guys are silly, stomp your feet, cry, get what you want then cry you don't want it.
throw #'s out there but never actually read those #'s
how long are you western guys going to blame everything on NR?
really? first, you can thank cali. for all...
hold on, first, glad a poacher was caught. now, there just happened to be a trail cam on a random chunk of public land and it happened to catch a poacher shooting a moose? yet we still have never caught bigfoot or LBC's. somethings going on here.
I agree the photos look as if he made a...
OK, I think I have the answers to solve everything. we keep OTC for everyone but
1) res. get otc in the quality units and there is no draw for non res. in those units
2) non res keep otc but only on federal land.
3) all other units are draw for everyone
4) all otc units are capped equally...
@basket8, we dont know the extent of work that was done, so im going to say this under the assumption of a typical job.
it is very hard to get to 800$ in materials even if the materials were doubled. there really isnt much that goes into doing 3 vanities. one thing that I want to question...
my go to answer for trim work is "caulk will fix it" lol.
here the price is 250$ to show up, then the clock starts for hourly. so if no work is done regardless of reason, you will pay 250 plus tax. and that is also the hourly rate. on the material markup, not uncommon to see double the price on...
I say go for it. at the very least you'll have A/C. units have come a long way, and they work fine down to single digits. the biggest issue that most people have with mini splits is sizing. if the head is too small the unit will run constantly and get nowhere. if the head is too big, the unit...
@5miles, hopefully that fernco is easily accessible as they don't last forever. since you got pin holes in copper pipe I'm guessing you're running a water softener, if you are then be aware that soft water eats copper pipe as well as any other metal lines/fittings so pin holes may be a sign...
WV, it all depends on the way you look at it and the person. if it cost 800$ to rent a machine to do the job then he saved 400$ actual, but theoretically saved more. the contractor uses his machine for only 2 hrs for a price of 1200$ but 5miles uses the same machine for 24 hrs so if you broke...
I just snatch a squirrel from a tree to snack on while I'm walking lol.
I usually have a bumble bee tuna or chicken package with tortillas and sliced cheese so I can make a wrap.
that with a granola bar of choice makes the perfect lunch/snack for me.
I do think I need to raid some of you...
barnes LRX = 54.7 A4350 cci 250 primer OAL 3.365
145 ELDX = 52gn hunter same primer OAL 3.360
this is what worked for me in my rifle. as always, start low and check OAL but both loads are middle of book loads.
+1 on that. the interlocs work just fine for what you have and want so if you find a load for them, use them.
the biggest mistake new reloaders make is thinking they can find a better load. while you might, it usually cost money, time and exp. if your rifle shot 3/4 moa with fgm, that may be...
