New vs. Fire-formed brass - load development

I've never really noticed much difference in new vs fire formed. I've even heard guys with ackley improved cases not noticing much difference between new unformed brass vs the formed stuff, just a Velocity change Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Magnum primers in Standard cases

Start of on the low side. I've not switched large rifle with magnum, but pretty much everything else. If you're just getting the rifle, and starting the work up, I'd just start at the starting load and work up normally, you'll probably just hit pressure signs a bit sooner than stuff a standard...

    300rum load development

Do you have a chrono? If so, find a good Velocity node, then tweak oal for accuracy. I know powders are scarce, but mine likes rl33. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Why I avoid the range when it’s busy

Yeah... Man I loved being in Wyoming for basically that reason. Was easy to be the only one there often times. But yeah... I'd understand maybe shooting 2 or 3... But the whole damn box? That's the kinda person that will end up with an eye patch and if they need to count past 3, they gotta take...

    140 Cutting Edge Lazers

Wound channel was a lot smaller than I expected. It was a lung shot on a doe, both were jello but really no ruined rib meat. Sorry, no pictures though Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    140 Cutting Edge Lazers

I took my first deer with a cutting edge bullet. I try to use them where I can, but it did it's job. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Does it bother you?

Right... It's all the greedy bastards fault. Not the reduced staff, HUGE increase in sanitization and supplies usage, and prices of everything rising. Company supplied ppe isn't free... I'm sure they're going through masks, gloves and sanitizer like a puppy through a table leg. Yeah, sounds like...

Pistol Reloaders - Help Me Out - 9mm/10mm

I don't really see much a difference in dies. I've still got my preferences, not sure why. But especially right now, yeah, whatever you can get will be fine. I've loaded with the cheapest dies I can find, and I've also loaded with dies that cost about 200 bucks each. Lee will do just fine. I...

    Chronograph First Buy

Magneto speed will do fine, as true muzzle velocity is really what you want anyway. Really, other than how they're set up, there's really no difference in the information they give you. Now, a labradar, that's a different story... Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Any other wildcatters?

I don't have any wildcat rifles, but I've got an old wildcat pistol, 9x25 Dillon that I shoot in uspsa open. I've got a 300 rum that once the barrel gets shot it in chambering in 338 edge, which is still kind of a wildcat. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Where is the H-4350

Powder valley I believe is about 30-40 bucks, hazmat included, so the more you can get, it helps water down the shipping fee. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Where is the H-4350

It's called people have been buying it in unnecessary amounts for about 9 months. Along with every other component. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

    Incipient Case Head Separation

High pressure signs on “average charge loads”?

Really, when it comes to the traditional box chronos, I don't really think there's much hardware difference. I wouldn't "trust" ced pro chrono any more than your casual l caldwell. Now, try and compare those too a doppler system like the labradar... Yeah I see a clear winner there Sent from my...

High pressure signs on “average charge loads”?

Berger tends to be my go to. But there are others. Just saying that bullet selection could help you stretch the legs on that 308. I know there's a video of a guy shooting a 20" barreled 308 a mile, it was at steel, so energy wasn't a concern Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

High pressure signs on “average charge loads”?

I mean, don't knock the 308.a change of brass and maybe a more efficient bullet and you could maybe get there. I'm a big Lapua brass fan, but know other brands are going to be a lot better, that you won't have to shell out that much for. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

High pressure signs on “average charge loads”?

That's just par for the course with reloading. Books are written in a laboratory type environment. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

High pressure signs on “average charge loads”?

42.5 also looks like it could hot with the cratering of the primer, but that can also be slop around the fitting pin hole Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

High pressure signs on “average charge loads”?

I bet it's hornady's soft as baby stool brass. But yes, those are signs your load is too hot. Every batch of hornady brass I've used has maxed out in middle of the book loads. I've even had hornady factory ammo blow primers. Ditch the hornady and get something better. Or, don't load to where...

    300 win mag non lead

I prefer cutting edge bullets for lead free. But they're spendy. I've had good luck with them. Barnes is good because they're pretty easy to find too. If I had to pick between ttsx or hammer, I'd go with the ttsx. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
