Season's greetings, guys. I'm helping a buddy with scoping his new Tikka T3x in 6.5 Creed. He wants a variable scope with the low end around 2 or 3 power and the upper end around 10 to 15 power. So, a 2-10x or 2-12x, or 3-12x, etc. He won't be dialing turrets and glass clarity and low light...
I shopped around, looked at some models in person at Bass Pro then ended up buying the TenPoint Venom X, from Wyvern (can't beat his deal, no tax and free shipping). Huge bang for the buck. I am not a huge fan of the scopes that come on these bows, with the multiple dots or hashes in the...
Hey dudes, I've hit retirement! Last day was yesterday. Have lots of plans laid out for things to do in the coming months and years, won't be a couch potato, for sure. Even more hunting planned and will get back into fishing. On the immediate horizon, wife and I will be headed to SW Colorado...
I just retired yesterday and my wife and I will be doing a similar trip in three weeks, only we're driving our 4Runner from St Louis. We'll check out the Florissant Fossil Beds, and Black Canyon, Mesa Verde, and Great Sand Dunes NPs. We'll do some driving on the Alpine Loop and are hoping...
Because I don't have an immediate need this fall for the inReach device, I have the luxury of being able to wait and see what happens with the iPhone update. If it doesn't pan out, I can always grab an inReach later. I'd expect there to be similar sales in the future. We'll see!
I'm resurrecting a nearly year-old thread but my understanding is that the upcoming IOS 18 update for Apple iPhone 14s and 15s will enable texting via satellite. I hope that's true as it's why I decided against getting a Garmin 66i at a great price; I'll use my 15 for that.
I posted a couple of days ago in three threads here that I'd ordered a Garmin 66i from Bass Pro, as it is on sale for $349 right now, which is a great deal for what you get, inReach and GPS mapping. Just now the UPS driver delivered my unit. However, I'm having second thoughts before even...
Johnw, FYI in case you aren't aware, but right now until August 28, Bass Pro/Cabela's has the Garmin 66i on sale for $349. Heck of a deal as it has the InReach satellite functions as well as all the GPS stuff.
FYI, Garmin 66i is on sale right now at Bass Pro/Cabela's for $349, same price as InReach Mini 2, but it offers all the GPS functions in addition to the satellite functions.
We (well, the contractor we hired) did the same thing 9 years ago whe our basement was finished, used the dryfall paint. It looks great, everyone comments on it. We love it. And if you ever have problems and need to repair/deal with something, it's all exposed so makes it much easier.
Wife and I were in the market for a new vehicle (first one ever!) last fall, wanted something that could go anywhere we wanted in our upcoming retirement. Had it narrowed down to the Outback Wilderness and a 4Runner. Liked the Outback but went with the 4R due to it being bigger, more capable...
My adult daughters are ages 31 and 27. When they were in their early teens my wife and I paid for their braces (not sure, but I think they were maybe $4k-5k each). When the braces were removed they were given retainers by the ortho. We told the girls that we weren't paying for braces again so...
Hey guys. I have some non-hunting relatives that need some inexpensive binoculars for a national parks vacation (Yellowstone, Tetons) out west next month and beyond that just to have for general purpose, or whatever. They've never owned binocs and are on a tight budget. I told them I'd do...
I did the same thing, bought a new '23 4R last November. Love it. I have zero interest in any of their current models with the turbo engines. I'm an old dude; give me old, proven, dependable "technology."
