wow, this thread got revived from the dead....
Anyway, I know quite a few guys around here (lyme disease is BAD here) are using permethrin treated pantyhose. It's even become a thing to cut a hole in the crotch and wear a 2nd pair as a long sleeve shirt with mittens.
I know several people...
I've got a Burris FF 4.5-14 that's been on numerous rifles. 223, 7mm RM, and .50 cal MZ. It's got a little black spec that occasionally floats around, but it's never lost zero and has had a somewhat hard life. I can't think of any other sub $500 scope I've had that has NOT had issues.
I ordered a Springbar classic jack 10x10 this spring. Was going to go with a Kodiak 10x14 but it wouldn't have fit on most of the tent pads in the MN state parks. Ordered the portico panels to go with it and really happy with my decision so far.
Fred Eichler posted a mount like this quite awhile ago on Instagram - and now this spring season they're getting posted everywhere.
I shot one yesterday and will be trying this. From what I've seen/read all of the feathers are plucked individually and glued down. Saw 1 taxidermist saying it...
I usually carry a small puffer (because I usually have a camera too) and a clean microfiber. I honestly try to not clean glass in the field if I don't have to. I'd rather do it at home if it can wait.
Its possible. I think self learning AI could learn the entirety of human knowledge as fast as it could ingest the data - which is incredibly fast. Some dude forgets to turn it off at the end of the day and by morning it’s the smartest thing on the planet.
This has been talked about. For example, if someone instructed AI "do what's best for humans", the AI may in fact determine that wiping everything and shutting down the grid may be what's best.
I have nowhere near the experience in Grizz country as a lot of the guys on here, but here's my .02 worth of experience from my last trip to Wyoming. I carried spray and a 10mm. I would guess approximately 75% of the time - the wind was blowing so much I think spray would have been ineffective...
The employer and income unfortunately. I make considerably more where I'm at then if I went elsewhere in the same field. If it weren't for that, we'd probably be gone. The politics here are awful.
My experience with them has been unfortunately long lived. I bought several dozen on camofire years ago for dirt cheap. I now have a literal pile of broken FMJs - stupid things break like toothpicks.
